Looking for events....
Hello,
I am looking to enter into any event whether it is Adventure Racing, MTB, or otherwise.
I will pay my entry fees and everything that is expected of me.
I would just like to get as many events ticked off as possible this year because it may be the last time I will be able to do so for a few years
My fitness is excellent, my skills can do with some work (I am however a fast learner).
I dont mind training sessions for events either. Just looking to get involved!

Oxford Falls closed sections: where is this heading?
I went for a ride at Oxford Falls (Morgan Road) yesterday, in the rain, very early. I haven't been there for 5 years so I was a tad uncertain about where all the tracks are and how they'd look, although I used to ride there pretty regularly so I did know my way about in a general sense.
Sole Protectors from CRC
Dear all,
If anyone is putting in a CRC offer any time soon, any chance I could get a couple pairs of sole protectors please:

Red, Gold, Clear seem to be available at the mo. Pick any 2 of these as I like surprises
Cheers!
Im new in town. Not really.
Hello to you all.
I have done the odd mountain bike trip before, but always done my trail riding solo.
My old Planet X has been replaced by a new shiny Santa Cruz Blur setup (I am picking it up in 2 weeks), so I am looking to get out and get my freak on.
I moved to Balmoral, so I am around the good trails like Manly Dam, but would like to get in on some group riding so everyone can show me the ropes around this neck of the woods!
Looking forward to meeting some of you, and my new bike pornographic pictures will be up and soon as I receive my baby!
Calling Techy experts
OK here is the challenge to all the folks who are at one with their cycles....
I have been having a terrible run of flat tyres after many years of barely any. Virtually every ride. To the point where I am thinking the Gods are telling me its time to covert to tubeless (which I am).

Wheel Selection
Hey Guys,
I am considering upgrading my my front fork and at the same time, upgrading my wheels as well. I will be looking at getting a FOX 36 TALAS and this has a 20mm thru axle so i will need a 20mm thru axle compatible hub.
Any suggestions for some all mountain style wheel sets? I have had a look at chain reaction and so on and have found some decent wheels but i wanted to get as much info as possible before making a final decision. What type of wheels are some of you guys running? I would like something that is strong that i do not have to worry about bending or so on.
The other option i have is to keep my current wheels and just re-build the front with a new hub. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
CAMELBAK Octane Hydration Pack
Bargain for those looking for slightly larger pack for all day epics or the commute - 85 bucks:

Disclaimer: Yes, yes, we get a small kick back from T7 (if using links from our site), but you note the complete lack of promotion usually. IMHO the above deal is very nice though, wish I'd posted up when they had similar offer on the M.U.L.E. now.
How to uglify your bike
Uglifying your bike....
get rid of the nobs and put on the slicks.
How ugly is this!!
Funny thing was as I dismantled the LUST crossmarks and ignitors as their 3 month expiry was reached, I had very different results in both front ignitors and rear crossmarks.
Residue left in front ignitor with a very strange latexy 'growth'
and
Residue left in rear crossmark. Heaps more left than the front, even though they were installed at the very same time..... Strange huh?
A ride near sydney ...
A few weeks back someone posted a ride which you could reach by heading west on the M2 motorway for a little while, not too far though. Unfortunately i can't seem to find the post anymore. Can anyone remember it?
Is it just me or is it a guy thing or what?
OK so I am curious to get some views on 'social riding".
Christine is frequently seen to talk about this phenomenon, and I must say I have heard of it often, and tried to do it myself, usually at the request of others.
But here is the problem - I can't seem to do it. While those who have ridden with me may well say that my pace is at best a social one, since I am old and decrepit, nevertheless I have only one speed - as fast as I can possibly go in the conditions presented.
is this the Scott 24hr
just wondering if this is the Scott 24hr that Snoaring Forties might be entering as I think I'm supposed to be in that.

Turn on OSM (Open Street Map) and cycle/walk auto routing (in the right sidebar) and the cycle layer (right button on the map).
Exposure Lights AAA Service
While we're on the topic of lights, I too have a good news story - this time about Exposure Lights. My smart charger decided to be smart no more and died in the arse. I rang Exposure Lights tonight in the UK and 1% of their chargers appear to be faulty. They have sent me a replacement express post. Service was second to none....and I can't recommend these lights highly enough. No cables, no external battery and as bright as hell. And they've just released a 4 LED light...as if the the 3 LED wasn't bright enough???
Anyway, Exposure Lights get a big tick from me.
Cheers, Mick
Big ups to Ayups
Gday Crew,
After much fiddling, may set of ayups(over a year old)
Battery leads and/or connections were becoming a bit temperamental
Working then cutting out a high speed, off / on, etc you get the idea
Rang and spoke to Ayup, "yeah mate send them up, we'll have a look at them"
Sent them to Ayup, after a week (a week ago), rang and finally got a answer
They had received them and were going to have a look, THEN
Today I received an email with the following:
did you know...
You lot may already be up on this but it was news to me... Mum said today on the radio they said Red Hill, Oxford Falls West and Lizard Rock are all saved from being devloped for the next 10 years!
What a relief I don't have to leave Sydney for 10 years if I don't want to!!!
What could possibly go wrong?

Chainrings and compatability with Race Face Evolve
I have a Race Face Evolve crankset which needs new middle and big chainrings. This will be the second time in 18months. I'm not altogether keen on the wear rate of the Race Face rings and was wondering if I can put on other brands ie, XT
Anybody done this?
Cheers

20" shorts from Clarence st Cyclery ?
Hi all,
does anyone recall the "20 Inch" brand cargo shorts which were sold at Clarence St Cyclery in black and beige. Apparently it wasn't really part of the store and they were found downstairs in the workshop.
I got a pair and as they are wearing wanted to get some more but they are no longer sold. No one seems to know who the seller is and where they might still be stocked. The internet hasn't thrown up anything either.
Can anyone help ?
Cheers
