Angry Doctor accomodation
So as the number of Nobmobbers attending the Angry Doctor grows, so too the number of accomodation requests. We will need to think about a motel / bungalow / camping alternative. Or maybe all of these, if we end up with huge numbers.
Does anyone have a wish to organise this? Group accomodation for about $100 a night (split up between attendees) is usually the preferred method, if you aren't camping. Does anyone know of good camping grounds or caravan parks? My preference is for a self contained hut/bungalow.
So, lets hear 'em...
Quotes from DW 08
Well as always an interesting day and alot learnt.
Quote of the day, about halfway along the first section of road, has to be from a certain Nobmobber, usually vocal in their dislike for lycra clad roadies
"This isn't too bad, I think I could actually like this road riding thing"
Sadly though, same rider also took a "nasty" spill on the last section of road for the day
Lost Helmet and Gloves at Manly Dam, Sat. May 3rd
If anybody found a helmet and a pair of fox gloves at the end of the trail at the Hydraulics lab about 4:45 Sat afternoon please contact the plonker who left them on the top of his car and drove off! I went back about 20mins later and they weren't there so I'm hoping some kind soul picked them up for me.
I was in a black Golden Eagle Jeep and there were 2 seperate guys who finished about the same time parked across the road. If you have the equipment please get my details from my profile and contact me.
Cheers,
Andy.
Lycra Scumming
So guess who's just been to Turramurra Cycles to pick up a carbon road bike?
No not me.
Have fun at DW!
Hi guys!
Just to say have fun this weekend!!
Have the best time and enjoy the every single km you got yourself into
Will hold the fort while you are gone and look forward to read all about your shenanigans!
Cheers
Caro
P.S.
Cupcake, when you are flying down Shepperd's gully remember you won't be on the big bike (otherwise you are mad!) and you are NOT on the ROAD! Take care
and Rob... hydration is your friend
Dirtworks Camping.
So who will be camping and does any one have sugetsions re where the best place to set up the Nobmob village would be.
Rides near me.
Do any of the DH boys know any good trails close by to UNSW? Or do I have to keep trekking up north?
P.S It would be good if the ride section could be sorted into different disciplines as well as different distances away.

Winter Riding - sooo cold!
Now it is getting a little cold early morning I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about what 'leg warmers' you can wear to keep your legs warm when riding?
Dirtworks ticket for sale - late notice!
I had entered the dirtwork 50km Master and now cannot do it. I noticed that others have sold their ticket and thought I would put it out there at late notice. Im not quite sure how this sale works so if anyone can fill me in that would be great.
Yellowmundee ride
Last friday I took my son and a friend out to Yellowmundee Regional Park for a ride. I had looked at in Google Earth and it looked interesting. We all had a really great time. It is strictly 10km xc (80% single track/20%firetrail)circuit with a couple of technical drops into creek crossings and some zig-zag descent downhill. If anyone would like to try it out I am keen to go again. Also a beautiful drive out through Richmond returning through Spingwood. Good ride of beginners who want to test a number of there skills and get fitter.
Manly Dam will reopen May 3
Good news from the rangers for those not heading out of town this weekend.
Although I've just been to Cascades and it's filthy wet there, probably the wettest I've ever seen with standing water on much of the trail, even places it doesn't normally gather. I doubt the Dam has faired much better to be honest so if you can possibly avoid riding there this weekend and give the trail more chance to dry out I'm sure it will be much appreciated.
The bike track will re-open this Saturday 3rd May.
Thanks to everyone who kept off the track during and after the wet period.
We have had quite a few enquiries regarding track maintenance days. We are not planning any future track vol days until a staff vacancy is filled at the Dam. We will inform you via e-mail if we can find suitable staff to supervise in the interim.
Thanking you and safe riding.

What is going on with Australian Bike Shops????
I know parts here in Australia are somewhat more expensive then in US, but there some things that I just can’t understand. I’ve been looking for a seal kit for my Fox RP23 shock and I found it in a couple of bike shops near my work and they were charging $40 for the kit. I also found it online from Moruya Bicycles ($29 with shipping). Then I decided to look abroad and found out that this kit costs around $7.00 in US.
Light, Durable, Cheap
This is a great quote,
When it comes to bike components, you can only pick two out of three adjectives to describe them: light, durable, or cheap. Having all three in one is impossible.
2008 Norco Saquatch FOR SALE
2008 Norco Saquatch, size medium. Bought just under three months ago from The Bike Shed. Have only taken it out on the trails once and commuted to work a few times. Bike is in great condition and as spec'd by the bike shop minus some of the stickers and a change of saddle - Selle Italia SLR Gel Flow. Reason for sale - moving back to the uk. I'm looking for $850 ono and would rather a local pickup or drop off. email for pictures: nodrog (at) clara.co.uk
Ourimbah Ride
Hello all,
My hubbie and I are talking about heading up to Ourimbah State Forest to do some riding over the weekend. Does anyone know what the condition of the trails might be with all of the rain we have been getting lately? Also, if anyone in interested in joining us, that would be great. We are flexible about either riding Sat. or Sun. and the weather looks good for both days as far as I can tell. Cheers!
Dirtworks 50km entry available
Hi guys,
A girl I work with has a boyfriend who can't make the ride and wants $80 for his 50km entry. If you are interested then Contact Dave on 0402 406 524.
Cold Lube
Is it getting cold or what!? I was going to put some Rock and Roll Gold lube on my chain last night. And the instant the lube hit the chain it thickened and stayed as nice blob on top of the chain without running down into the link. Obviously this isn't going to help in prolonging the life of my drivetrain.
Bike racks (was I'll be coming thru Pymble)
I normally put my bike on the back seat (on a thick old sheet) with the front wheel off.
I can bring my rack thing but am not 100% it will fit on it. Some duelies do, some don't. It's a hatch back rack, not a tow-bar one. We can try. If it does not work I can tow you there! Have you done 70 km/hour on it yet?

Distance c/l to c/l of the 2 poles is: 400 mm
Review by a Newb: Specialised FSR Expert vs.Trek Fuel Ex9 all '08 vs. Mystery Bike
Hi All,
I have been mountain biking for a year on my sub 1K hardtail. I have done over the 1000k's I promised I would do and now its time for an upgrade. I am unsure how useful this information will be due to my lack of experience..but you never know
(Hope that is enough disclaimers)
Went out to penno park last
Went out to penno park last night which was pretty good fun and a decent test for the lights we purchased. Anyone interested in doing Terry Hills on Wed night? We have never been out there and if we are to venture out in the night it would be nice to have someone that knew the area.
Dirtworks Car Pool
Ohh, ohh... it's less than a week to go to Dirtworks!
Hope we're all ready and raring to go?
Anyhow, in the interests of trying not to cause huge traffic jams at the ferry and saving the obvious expense of the petrol are we all lined up with car pooling up there?
FWIW looks like Liam and I will be travelling together but there's room for one or two more (depending on the shape of your bike) so shout out if you want a ride from LNS area sometime after midday Saturday, and to return later (after the presentations) Sunday.
