12 May: Dirt Works Classic 2009!

The Dirt Works 100km Classic will be back next year on the 3rd May 2009. Entries will open in the first week of Dec. 08. Note these dates in your diary to take advantage of the early bird rates.

5 May: Race Results, Photos and Reports - Now Available!

Congratulations to everyone who competed in the Dirt Works Classic 2008. This year was the biggest event in our four year history with 1265 competitors making it to the start line.

In true Dirt Works fashion the cold St. Albans morning turned into a beautiful sunny day as the riders cruised out of town at 6:30am. The weeks of rain leading up to the event was going to have an impact, the question was will it make the course boggy or compact the normally loose and sandy sections to allow for faster times?

In the 100km race elite rider Hamish Elliot was able to answer the question with a blistering 4:09:42 breaking Craig Gordon’s course record by 52 seconds. Drew Robertson took line honours in the 50km race also with a new course record. Drew smashed the 50km with a time of 1:51:49.
