Tuesday Night Ride Terry Hills

By Stuart M - Posted on 26 November 2006

Anyone interested in joining me for a "SOCIAL PACED" night ride at Terry Hills this Tuesday night 7.30 at the shops for 7.45 start please Text me 0412 174 282. Sorry all, computer problems so I won't be checking here for replies.

Nine-lives this is a social paced ride, more than welcome to join but at a slower pace than the other week. I know how you get your ninelives, you stole one from me last time we rode Smiling and rumour has it you came close to getting another one the other night at cascades.

No moon so lights will be necessary.

If I don't get any sms then I will probably change times so please send me a message if you want to join me.

Sadly I'll be unable to make it this week, six days in a row on the bike doesn't seem like such a good idea in hindsight and my aching back agrees! I blame the 5-a-side football on the Thursday though. Maybe a bit of gym dwelling isn't such a bad idea after all!

Close to shedding a life?? I can only imagine that's referring to my miserable attempts to clear the logs coming out of cascades, one of those that looks frustratingly simple...

Back to ignoring the cricket ;>}

You can't blame touch footie - wuss!
If I asked Stuart if he would go Wednesday night instead is anyone else keen or would the masses prefer Tuesday?

MEEE Smiling

Of course I'm a wuss, I'm male and a pom so there's no escaping the genes! Though it was proper football ie. "soccer", oh hang on that's even more ladylike...

Anyway back in topicland I could probably stretch my body into shape for Wednesday if that's what the consensus decides?

Ta,
Matt.

Ok, Wednesday night it is then. 7.30ish at the shops for about 7.45 start. Christine you had better be there now we changed it for you.

Slow access back to the internet now so post back here if you want to join us.

I'm liking the sound of an injured pom, I might be able to keep up with him. BTW anyone know when the english cricket team is meant to arrive in Oz to contest the Ashes Smiling LOL

OK Rob, I know they're ready so expect to see the new beasts on Wednesday night. Anyone not joining us look towards TH about 8pm and you should see the glow.

Look forward to riding TH again.

Hey Stuart,

I know you're hanging out to see the beast, but I'm not sure about tomorrow - I (and therefore 'it') might not be there and you'll have to wait another week. Take it you've seen all the beam comparison shots (in the Equipment/Lighting gallery)?

Cheers!

Wow they look very bright Rob

Sorry to hijack this thread a little but how serious a lighting rig would one need to ride at night? I would like to come along but have no lighting equipment at the moment.

Just ride near either Greg or Stuart! That is what I do!
I have a little light (much to the amusement of the others) which in it's previous life was used on a horse riding helmet...the guys attached it to the front of my bike and it is ok - not as good as theirs or Robs ( i suspect!).
Thank you for changing it! I am very pleased about that!

MEEE Smiling

ps I need new front brakes on my bike - where is the best place to take it?

pikey's picture

Hi Christine,

Your brakes are the mechanical disc type, right?

if so what brand? as I just fitted a new set to stuarts lone bike to me.

It wasnt to hard to fit and tune.

let me know

Greg

Greg! I believe you have met me enough times to know I am totally clueless about my bike! But yes, I do know they are disc brakes...!!!
Cars are so much easier!

Especially when you spend so much of your time putting it back together!!

christine's picture

That is why i have a Holden - never have enough time between repairs to forget how to do them!

If anyone going tonight has some BErocca tubes at home they don't want could they please bring them along. I'm not after the contents, just the tubes, for bike lights version 2

Cheers

See you all tonight about 7.30

I'll have a look at home for Berocca tubing for you, should have an old tin lying around somewhere.

..was just sitting here wondering...are we having a beer tonight at the end of the Long Trail?

Buck's picture

Hope you all had fun. I have no lights so rode the Perimeter trail by myself this evening. Finished up at around 7:30pm.
Must have just missed you all!
