Has anybody tried the slime tubeless sealant over the stans ?

at clogging up valves. Sticking out tongue

Don't use it with Prestas. Schrader only. It was a PITA to be honest. Couldn't get air in, couldn't let it out. Had to remove the Schrader inners and clean them frequently. I wouldn't bother with it again.

Ok will get the stans , might c u today if the wet stuff doesn't come

Ok got the specialized sealant & rode today the tyre stayed up for the ride all good so far topped it up to better pressure when I got home

Artists latex and water, sometimes mixed with used coffee grounds. - works great and stupid cheap.

I use this and after my 2 flats/oh - not flats on the Fling today I can say it works great. Just a thumb over the leak for a couple of seconds and good as new again - spiffy!

I was there doing the half today but cramped up so lent my bike to a fellow mobber , but went to check the air it was low , then tried to
pump it up the valved leeked from inside didn't seat properly theres $15 down the drain the valve is stuffed trying to get it out to put a tube in .
I need another valve or try another way by getting a smaller tube & stretching it & then cut it to fit inside the rim properly ?

Your rims are Mavic Crossmax SL's aren't they? If it's the same as my CrossLands and SLRs, the OEM valves should be reasonably easy to remove - undo the knurled nut on the outside of the rim and take it off, but cap back on and push out (ie into where tyre would be) firmly.

I had to do this after I burped the tyre off the rim one day when the pressure was too low - took a while to figure out, but once I worked it out I was pleasantly surprised at how relatively hassle free it was to do.

What's the general consensus with tubeless and having to put air in your tyres all the time?
I find my tyres lose pressure and need pumping up before each ride. They'll lose about 1-2 psi per 24 hours.
I'm using the ghetto latex solution.

Do people with the brand name stuff experience the same problem?

Yeah, this (loosing air slowly) happens sometimes... put more sealant in. Least that worked the couple times it happened to me Eye-wink

One of the things that's not always explained is that you need to make sure that the sealant coats the entire inside of the tyre casing including the bead, when you mount it. After mounting up my tyres, I slosh it (slowly) around the sidewalls, and this is where the soapy water comes in really handy: you can see from the bubbles where the leaks are and you tip the sealant to that part of the tyre until the bubbles stop.

I have mine pumped up to up to 80PSI at this point (LBS recommendation), but it will vary with what tyres you use - do at own risk, and definitely not without eye protection!

I then mount the wheels and do a couple of quick laps around the block, then leave overnight and set to my usual operating pressure ~30psi the next day.

Yep, agree on the sloshing around to get it right up into the rim. Also found if the tyre is not seated quite right , i lose air. Otherwise, you should airtight and not having to topup each day. Actually use some stans in my road tubes to keep them up longer.
