Visiting over christmas, any rides on???
Hi Guys, i'm down visiting the northern beaches area over christmas, just wonderin if you have any rides orgainised. Alternativley where's the best places to trundle. Am willing to exchange the favour if your ever in Armidale.

I'm new to this website and this area, but I do know of a few places around and will be going for a few rides with a friend of mine (and anyone from this group who want's to come / anyone who wants to allow us to tag along with them) between now and xmas. what dates will you be here?
so we can sms you with details of where and when, particularly if you don't have access to the net while you are here.
As per Andy, when are you here and also what sort of riding do you like.
Have a look at the rides and maps links on the site, Rob in particular has gone to alot of effort mapping most of the local trails we ride and its a great resource.

I think i will be there from thursday 21st through to boxing day. I am fairly keen to get some early morning rides in if possible.
I did start to check out the trials guides, they look really good, i am staying in Wahroonga, which tracks would be the closest??? (i think the bobbin head one must be cause i have been to the sphynx).
Ahh forgot to say what kind riding i like, medium-slow XC, single track, non-hucker, i wear lycra but have baggies to cover my shame, perhaps the average joe of mtbing.
Yeah these maps are great! Thanks to Rob and anyone else who went to the trouble of doing this. I have been looking at them all day, even though I should be working.
Stuart, I live here, ie. Sydney, and I will be going for rides between now and xmas, then again from early January onwards. I like to ride XC and downhill, but not overly long rides on wide tracks, I prefer single tracks.
I will be going on a friday morning ride starting about 8am, will probably be at oxford falls again since thats where I have been before and I hardly got to see any of it. (I will post this ride as a new post)

Although you have some decent rides near you, some better rides may still be a 20 minute drive away, which is bugger all. I could suggest:
Oxford Falls - Drive the back way through St Ives onto Mona Vale road to get there.
Red Hill - Drive the back way through St Ives onto Mona Vale road, then hang right (south) on Forest Way to get there (best ride in Sydney, IMHO).
Lane Cove National Park - ummm, where could this be?? Lots of rides in there.
Cascades - Right near Wahroonga, in fact.
By about Wednesday or Thursday in the week, you will find that someone has posted a request for a ride on Saturday and on Sunday. So just hang tight and see what people are up to. Worst comes to worst, you post like you did and see if you get hits. Heaps of people would do the first two rides I mentioned above.

Yeah I should be able to come on a ride on sunday in the afternoon, where are you thinking of going?
I can also be a starter if we go after about 3 p.m. in the afternoon. Red Hill, Terrey Hills or something? Something on the North Shore.
After 3pm is good for me, i was thinking around 4.00pm. As far as loction, well i do not have any real preference i've only ridden the dam and some of oxford falls x 1, i was going to give the dam another go +/- some of bantry bay circuit but if anyone has a preference other than that i'm happy to try something else.

I'm also new to this side, but would maybe join. I live in Allambie Heights, and as long as the track you are going to ride is not too far away, I'd like to join. Somebody has to decide where and when exactly.
