Anyone tried the generic brakepads from T7?
I'm up for some new pads in the Juicy brakes - looks like $40 an end is the going rate. This is pretty ridiculous, so I've ordered some of the aftermarket "Alligator" branded pads off T7, for about a third of the price.
Has anyone used these and got feedback?

They're OK, not great. I found they were very noisy in the wet. Last time I used them was when I ran Hayes brakes on my Mongoose commuter in '08.
I used them quite a bit for my shimano deore brakes . They seem to work OK but at a fraction of the cost of anything else. They are quite thick so I got to replace one side at a time which solved the problem. If one of the pads is a bit more worn replace that first and leave the other side for a few weeks
I tried my luck with aftermarket brake pads (among other aftermarket accessories) and the truth is they are cheap for a reason. They're just not right. from the fit to the feel. manufacturers spend lots of $$ designing brakes pads that WORK with their brakes. they may be more expensive, but you really do get what you pay for. aftermarket companies copy the manufacturer's designs and make them work with cheaper materials and inferior manufacturing techniques.
A specific note on alligator products: i used their "bullet proof" cables. They were cheap and nasty and really not that much cheaper than XTR cables. there was so much friction in the cables that i never noticed until i installed XTR cables.
In Conclusion: stick to what the manufacturer recommends!

These are going on the hardtail/commuter, not the main bike, so they don't need to be brilliant. For $14 bucks a pop I figured they were worth a go.
I replaced my original Shimano pads (M07S) in Shimano deore bakes with Alligator pads, they have lasted twice as long, especially if they get wet, they do get a bit noisy and bite harder so a bit of modulation. You could say its comparing apples to oranges in pad materials but I would never go back to paying for original pads. I have also tried http://www.discobrakes.com/ for my old Hayes 9s and found then good as well.
