Awaba is looking great. Dry and super fast. I am loving the new sections. The chute and salad bowl are fantastic.

The new climb needs a little bedding in, but great to see some altitude on the course, and some new more technical bits. There is certainly alot of promise once you get up the hill a little bit. The fast downhill and the A line jump, make the climb well worth it.

Wish I lived closer to get here a little more often.

Do you have more information?

There is a lot of talk about that new climb and what to do with it to make sure it lasts, but the vertical in the place is great now, and only going to get bigger.

The aline jump is set to be tweaked with more air time scheduled for other bits of that decent.

The good news is though, the trail fairies are saying the next 3-4km's should take no time to build. That will see the initial completed and planning of the real fun stuff begin.

What speed did you hit on the DH? I am hearing reports in excess of 60km/hr from the last club round.

With regards to the climb, I agree some work may need to be done to make it a little more sustainable. Maybe introduce a couple of switch backs up the fire trail, and the pinch climb at the top already could do with some reinforcing. Great work though. Has anyone managed to make it up and over without stopping ?

Coming down is a blast ! My first run down I didnt know what to expect so I wasnt going full throttle but definitely fast ! Given the amount of clearway on eitherside of the track, it is a great place for introducing some jumps.

Sammy what does real fun stuff mean ? is the plans for some north shore type stuff being introduced ?

The next buildday will be tweaking the climb and benching across the top. It was scratched in in a hurry and raced, but needs rework as you say. Same with the climb, it's not sustainable as is so we are looking at what the best option is.

The climb has definietly been cleared though. A and B grades used that section last race and quiet a few cleared it. The word pain seems to have been thrown around alot.

I'm still waiting to ride it as I've been laid up with a dodgy back for a few weeks.

By fun stuff................use your imagination. We are looking at a lot more tech stuff using natural features. North shore will be used if the trail calls for it, more jumps and big berms. There will be massive climbs and the decents to match. We are all just learning exactly what terrain we have to play so we can best use it. A second easier DH trail is also on the cards.

That said there will be a heap more trail like we currently have and we are talking to state forest about extending the lease area.
