Can anyone find anywhere in this, how many KM of cycle path they think can be built with $158 million?

What are the chances of getting some of that to build off road trails?

2.22 Fund local recreational cycling facilities through NSW Sport & Recreation Facility Grants programs (continue and extend existing activities - may have some scope)
2.23 Promote cycle access to and through designated NSW National Parks and Crown reserves, including the use of sustainable mountain bike tracks (moderate priority - action within two years - ie after the election)

Actually, someone has just mentioned there is stuff in this plan to get a little optimistic about...

2.23 Promote cycle access to and through designated NSW National Parks and Crown reserves, including the use of
sustainable mountain bike tracks.

5.1 Through the NSW Tourism Industry Plan identify and promote cycle tourism opportunities such as:
...
c. mountain biking in the Snowy Mountains and Blue Mountains, and linkages across other National Parks and
publicly managed lands.

5.9 Facilitate networking between the NSW Government, local bike businesses and cyclists to:
a. develop ideas for cycling projects and programs

So basically - the NSW bike plan is agreeing with what most MTB riders in NSW want, and what we have been asking for, for many years: "sustainable mountain bike tracks" in National Parks.

Looking at the priorities:

http://nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/uploads/co...

2.23 was given moderate priority - implement or start within 2 years.
5.1 was given highest priority - implement or start within 12 months.
5.9 was given moderate priority - implement or start within 2 years.

As usual... don't hold your breath Sad
