i've been trying to enter for the solo 24hr world champs and have not been recognised by their system.
i sent an email to tell them that i'd qualified etc and recieved some babble that i'd maybe missed the cutoff date!!!!!!!!
didn't know there was one?
can anyone confirm this? i'm not a member of farkin(rotorburn) so cant go on there to ask.
i'm SH,T,NG myself thinking i might have missed out!

Yes entries have closed.

There was a wild card option for people who missed out but I think that's also now closed.

I belive the last chance to qualify and get an entry will be at the Merida 24hr - http://www.tailwindpromotions.com.au/merida24hr/...

Heres a link to the chatter on Farkin - http://www.rotorburn.com/forums/showthread.php?1...

they obviously reserve so many spots from different races? either i go up and compete(at great expense) or just hope after all the qualifying is over, there may be a few last chance entries available???????????

Your best bet.

I don’t think there was a cut off time for entries but there was a cap of 300 spots available to Australian qualifiers which filled up a few weeks back.

I did read that there is a wild card system or a list for people who didn’t get themselves an entry but I don’t know the exact specifics. I think you need to pay a fee to get on the list just to have a chance at scoring one of the last spots.

Best bet would be to contact CORC and WSC to find out how to get on the wild card list.

Or head up to QLD.

Wouldn’t a holiday in Queensland and a bit of a bike race make for a nice mid winter break.

Gazza wont you be racing the fast guys if you go to NZ?

GAZZA's picture

it would cost me a lot to take days off work etc! anyway, it's around the time i'm probably going to Alice Springs to do some work for a rather keen mtb'er! long way to go i know but i'll be getting paid to work but we'll be doing a lot of riding also! Smiling

I heard you were too scared to do another 24 solo, and that maybe you waited untill all the entries were sold on purpose!

I've got an entry I wish i could transfer, not allowed by WSC Sad

Also just found out registration is between 9 and 12am on Friday Shocked I get back into Sydney Monday morning, I'm really not going to be ready for this race.

Back on topic... best of luck for the Merida Gazza, remember to register this time Eye-wink
