Does anyone have a Fox RP23 Bush extractor I could borrow for an evening (and a beer)?

I guess it would be a shouldered 'press' punch, and a tubular support to extract into.
Either use a machinists vice or a piece of threaded rod to apply the required pressure.
Give me a buzz if you want to talk about it.

Hi Steve

Yes, thats the sort of thing. I just found that DIYMTB do them for $50 which seems pretty reasonable, looks well made. Apparently it's so easy to use you can change the bushes with the shock in the bike. I don't mind paying unless you want to give it a go, probably easy for you to knock up.

I bought one off Duncan (DIY) years ago. Makes it easy. I live in Mona Vale. Will be home most of the time due to broken collar bone.

Where do you buy the replacement DU and eye bushes (?) for your RP23
The ones that my LBS use last less than 1 year
Before they start that tell-tale knock when lifting the bike by it's seat
I'd prefer local than BETD below, but similar quality

Hi Andy

I haven't got the bushes yet either, I was looking at getting the hula hoops as well, mine have lasted less than 6 months.

My specialized used to chew through the bearings in a year, however i changed the the bearings on the TREK 18+months ago and they are rock solid.

Yes, I agree the bearings must be a lot to with it. I recently replaced all of mine and some where a bit tired.

My tool just arrived from Duncan @ DIYMTB and very nice it is too. Now I can't wait for my bushes to wear out just so I can use it Smiling
