Women's Skills Weekend – Wiseman's Ferry

The AMBC Chix are teaming up for a weekend of skills training just for women at Del Rio Resort. Our Women’s Skills Weekend will provide you with the opportunity to improve your riding skills in a social, relaxed & fun environment. On offer will be a range of sessions targeted at improving your riding on both singletrack and trails in and around Wiseman’s Ferry.

With AMBC’s team of awesome female riders, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and refine some great skills. Some of the things we'll cover in both novice and intermediate/advanced levels:

~Climbing
~Traction control
~Steep, tight & loose pinches
~Line choice
~Cornering - types, techniques, maintaining momentum, getting traction, body positioning, weight distribution
~Obstacles and jumps - weight distribution, bunnyhops & wheel lifts, step ups
~Balance - trackstands, control, momentum, etc
~Maintaining flow & momentum through singletrack
~Braking & gearing
~Racing techniques
~Bike maintenance
~Bike Setup

Located 75 km from the centre of Sydney, Wisemans Ferry is not so much a town as a fascinating relic on the banks of the Hawkesbury River. Home of the Jetblack 24, this little village boasts two car ferries, some fantastic scenery and is a water skier’s paradise.

Kids & the Man

If you fancy bringing the man or the family along, we're more than happy (as long as you are)! The resort has facilities to keep anyone amused, including children’s playgrounds, a swimming pool, a jumping pillow, a 9 hole golf course, water skiing and tennis course. As the resort also offers cabin and camping accommodation, we offer the option of a skills program only package where you organise and pay for your own accommodation and meals through Del Rio Resort instead.

If you'd like to bring your children, we will be offering onsite childcare for children 3-10 years old by qualified child carers. So while you're out on your bike having fun, the kids will be having a (supervised) ball around the kid's facilities and our lodge.

And for the man.. if he doesn't fancy hanging out at the resort or partaking in some of the activities on offer in the area, there will be a couple of guided trail rides we'll be running around the trails of Wiseman's Ferry. Led by one of the AMBC dudes, your man will certainly be given a great experience riding some of the local trails.
