One more week for comments on Ingleside Chase Reserve PoM

Another week, another land manager's document to comment on. This one is very positive for riders as the council in question (Pittwater) has already stated it plans to liaise with local riders to create some trails in the reserve in question.

Although Ingleside Chase Reserve is probably about half the size of Manly Dam, and is a destination that many would not have considered riding in this is an important move for a few reasons:

  • It's important to acknowledge councils that are willing to help mountain bike riders.
  • The reserve is small so this probably makes it an ideal place for children or beginners to visit - we all have to start somewhere.
  • Even if only a short loop were possible, as the reserve is pretty close to Garigal and Ku-ring-gai National Parks it could possibly form part of a larger loop with proper planning. On that point - the council are working with NPWS on this.

The 'on exhibition' notice is here, from which the document can be downloaded:

The easiest way to comment is to complete the online form linked from the page above. Don't forget to put "Ingleside Chase Reserve Draft Plan of Management" in the "Which document are you commenting on?" box.

Given the council's plans, submissions that given them a nice pat on the back for their mountain bike inclusive plans are probably all that is required.

Submissions close Friday 5 November 2010, 5pm

This was previously discussed and there are a couple of maps in the gallery:
