My new single speed Smiling

Ebay frame, some bits off the XC bike and some new bits.
8.6kg on the bathroom scales Smiling

Going to head out to Terrey Hills tomorrow morning and try it out.

(Excuse the brake lines - I need to cut them shorter...)

I'll be interested to hear how the frame feels - is it one of the 'special-price-no-name' frames that have been getting lot's of attention lately?
and the new Hope X2 brakes - nice choice!

That's my idea of a real bike, light and simple. I'll be real interested to see how that goes for you

Took it for a spin this morning and was very happy with it. I rode Terrey Hills Perimeter + Long and made it up all of the hills bar 2 (one was too steep and the second no grip.)
Unfortunately snapped the chain about 2km from the end and had to walk it back to the car.

The front wheel felt a bit heavy so I'll try and shift my seat and weight back a bit, and raise the bar one spacer.
Yes the brakes are Hope Tech X2 and they felt great! Plenty of bite and feel, but I didn't really have any high speed descents to test them out fully. The levers felt really good and were very easy to adjust and get in just the right position.

The frame is an ebay special, no name, as many people have been discussing lately. I was happy with the response on ebay and the frame shipped the same day I placed the order. It arrived about 1 week later. It feels stiff to me - at least as stiff as my Scott Spark, but that's all I have to compare it to.

No suspension is going to take some getting used to though Smiling
