Probably as good as it gets ......just keep an eye and ear out for the moto rider, i was flying down bj's and he was flying up it not good!

Do you have more information?

If you've ridden here lately please add a more recent report. This will be useful even if the condition is the same as updates expire after 30 days.

Was out there too this morning first time in about 6 weeks - plenty fresh marks where they'd given the thottle a twist and on a lot of that tracks we rode this morning.

The end of last week. Was this a thumpster/mini bike or MX?

We better get on top of this one, people passing through is one thing but someone going out to ride the MTB trails is another.
And we don't need to be blamed for any futher impact.

Dan had seen a full moto in there a few weeks back. I suspect we have a new local tool bag who is using glenrock as a quick spin.

If its a registered bike, get as much detail as you can (rego, make, time, date, where, etc) and EMPY or myself can pass them onto NPWS. Tiffany said she would send warning letters and/or fines out based on our info.

Given the value of NPWS assets one has to shake their head at the lack of protection NPWS afford them. IMHO convert motion detection cameras should be placed at choke points around parks with known problems.

I've mentioned this before as these devices are cheap in comparison to the protection they offer as would catch various offenders, including both motos and MTB riders where they shouldn't be.

I'm all for prosecution of offenders engaged in illegal activities in National Parks to the full extent of the law if there are proper access provisions and management policies in place.

A quick search finds a couple of devices suitable for the task, I'm sure there are many more out there:

To be frank... it's verging on professional negligence for these devices not to be in use on all NPWS managed land where unauthorised access is known to be a problem.

by 'accidently' hitting him with your shoulder/elbow right in his chest hard enough for him to crash!- then go oops sorry mate!

that would more likely hurt you more than him.

Too see him coming up bj's for a spilt second i thought about holding my ground but common cents prevailed.....its was an unregistered bike it looked new so did he's clothes and helmet it was a white mx bike and he was in fox gear i was in there from 10am till 12 sat heard him buzzing around the whole time. There was a lot of mtb traffic on sat and moto and mtb on single trail doesn't leave much room and we all know who would come off second best

Yep, I saw him as I was coming out of second creek at about 12pm. I had just come out of second creek and turned left and was heading towards the next creek crossing when he came razzing up over the rise. He looked like he was only a young kid maybe 16 to 18, so I reckon Billy might be a local boy who got a moto off santa. He was travelling pretty quick but yielded track as I went past him and he gave me a nod, so he seemed friendly enough and is hopefully just ignorant of the fact that he should not be in there. If anyone sees him and gets the chance to wave him down, I am sure that a gentle word in his ear might solve the issue. Is there somewhere we could suggest as an alternative for him. There always seems to be moto's over the southern side of Whitebridge, is it legal there?

I noticed his roost marks on most of the trails on the northern side, so he seems to think he can ride whereever he wants. If anyone in the local area sees a young kid coming out of a house on a white moto and head into Glenrock, take the address down and notify NPWS. Failing that, maybe an informative letter drop in his mailbox might be enough to show him the light.
