Free postage on CRC

Hey I was just wondering if anyone in the northern beaches area is about to buy a large amount of gear to reach the free postage on Chain Reaction. I was wanting to get a helmet at $60 but the postage is at just under $40. I might be getting a bit more but my limit would be spending $100.

Thanks

Hey, If buying a helmet from overseas just be careful it has suitable standards stickers. The AU/NZ standards for helmets changed back in Dec.
This is important if you race and the check your helmet for the standards sticker, If its not the correct one you could be without insurance/not allowed to race.

(Its not likely to happen but it could)

I thought that the new helmet regulations prohibit the sale of on Aussie standards helmets by shops in Oz, but I assume that if you have an existing helmet, or buy one overseas that does not meet the new Ausssie standards that you would still be allowed to race and be covered by insurance. I would assume that 95% of riders at the Mont will have non-compliant helmets. Does anyone actually KNOW the position (rather than giving an opinion)?

Shops will be no longer able to sell helmets that don't comply with the new regulations in a few months. You can continue to race with a helmet that is approved under the old regulations.

I believe all helmets bought overseas are considered to be non-complaint, even though they are the same model that can be bought here.

I don't know about anyone else, but I sweat a lot when I ride and wash my helmet frequently. Damn... the sticker must have come off... if you know what I'm saying Eye-wink

Yeh thanks for that advice. It would be a full face helmet for downhill as I already have a good xc helmet, I would only be using it on the odd occasion and probably not ever for racing. (Unless I get really good at downhill Smiling)

Try before you buy! They come in unhelpful sizes, like S-M, L-XL, and dumb stuff like that. It is hardly good for getting a personalised fit. My recommendation would be to try one in a shop first before you buy that brand/model. Try TBSM, they have heaps of them.

Now this is only what I recall...MTBA sanction most races. Under their regs internationally compliant helmets are OK as long as the race is not on public roads. Public roads would mean the local helmet laws would apply.

It's buried in the MTBA Technical regs somewhere...I think...

Mine doesn't have a stick but I have the paperwork that says it complies.
