Awaba on the weekend?

Any one keen for a social cruise around awaba this weekend? I've never ridden there before so if some one feels like coming out to show me around that would be brilliant. Not sure about the state of track at the mo with all this weather, any locals got any idea if it's going to be in a ride worthy condition by the weekend? Day and time are flexible to suit others.

Cheers guys

I'd be interested, prefer Saturday due to Mother's Day on Sunday. Like you I'm a newbie to Awaba, and social pace would be good as I'm still trying to kick the last of this flu.

Gah, I hate Pseudoephedrine. It's the only thing that dries the congestion I've got, but I haven't slept more than an hour a night for the last several days! Sad

Saturday sounds pretty good, any preference for morning or arvo? once we decide on a time I'll put the ride in the calender and maybe some others will join us, otherwise we just wing it i guess

Sunday is HMBA club race day at Awaba. Everyone is welcome! If you are planning a social ride though, I suggest you plan it for the afternoon.

Prefer arvo, start 1 or 2pm.

Hey lads,

would like to tag along as well, never been there. Any interest in starting a little bit earlier, wanna get back for the Tahs v Force game.

i can do any time on Sat, would 11 work for everyone? We'll just make it a casual cruise, learn the lay of the land so to speak, I'm pretty keen to head back up on the Sunday and some get started in some racing. Could someone please me send me a link to get some more info on the race on Sunday? price, time, duration etc. Any help would appreciated as this will be my first time competing.

Hmmm... I might struggle to get the car. The missus has just advised me that Her Royal Cuteness (daughter) has netball on early afternoon and needs a lift. Sad

Where abouts in the northern beaches do you live, i could give you a lift if you like?

I was planning on bringing the youngster tho' ... depends on whether his fork needs servicing, currently it's not keeping air overnight.

Will let you know, if that's OK?

no worries mate, only have a bench seat in the ute but it can take myself and 2 others.

Ah, OK I thought a second person would be stretching the offer too far, and I didn't want to cut the young bloke out of a ride with his dad (me).

I'll have a chat with him and call you as soon as I can give a definite answer. Really appreciate the offer. Smiling

HMBA racing info can be found at www.hmba.asn.au (But the calendar is a little out of date for May because we have moved this round to 8th May because we are running the Kona Paterson Classic 24 on the 21/22 May - check out wwww.patersonclassic.com)

Sunday is a club race and all levels of ability are catered for (and very welcome). Cost is $10 per adult ($5 under 18) plus a day licence ($20) to cover insurance if you are not an MTBA member. Registration starts at 7:30am and finishes at 8:30am with racing to start at 9am. Duration depends on what grade you elect to race in - the higher the grade the more laps. Typically A grade will be just over 2 hours, down to E grade at about 40 mins. (Check out the past results on the HMBA website). Not sure yet if the XC coordinator has worked out which laps we will be running (they are colour coded).

Hope to see you there!

Never done Awaba either, and that time works well for me. Are you posting a ride up or just meet there? I can take one from the Inner West if needed.

I'll post it as a ride meet for 11am on Saturday hope to see you guys there, and cheers for the race info, sounds like it's going big weekend of riding
