Signs for the dam

Recently noticed a random pic on this site it was of a sign saying "dont ride if muddy" how do we get these or similar at all entrances to the Dam? Happy to contribute time & money and would assume council and rangers would chip in.
A sign the size of the fire ones "open or closed" that could be seen when you drive down w/hurst would also be good

Bike riders have offered many times to arrange some nice signs at Manly Dam. About the trail, the environment, some trail etiquette, etc, etc.

Several local bike shops have stated they would be happy to sponsor such signs so they would be at zero cost to council.

However, council always knocks back these offers for whatever reason.

That said - I do know that moves are afoot to work more closely with Manly Dam rangers and management.

Basically - people are working on it. People are always working on it Sad

Previously I had an email conversation with ranger rick after a notification they had put out and i was complementing them on their management and co-operation and information. My goal was to try and build some sort of repore so that we could be more involved in the management, upkeep and track improvements (some strategically placed berms at least) and offered my time when they next have a maintenance day etc. Ranger Rick said "thanks Dave that's great, we'll let you know when the next day is on", that was over six months ago...and nothing.

Well said Rob, I'm sure majority of the people who use this site would contribute time, some cyril (cyril ash=cash) etc although it seems the council continue to be a council and act like ostriches. Pity.

The rangers will always tell you they are having a maintenance day in "a few months" but it never happens. It's been this way since June 2008 (that's almost 3 years!). See more in: Update on Manly Dam Maintenance Days.

AFAIK the last maintenance day was 18 Nov 2007 (Manly Dam Trail Maintenance). Sad
