Amber/Some Issues

I was in there this afternoon and while most trails are good there are still a few wet spots, made worse be the traffic over the weekend. Overall I would say it's fine to ride IF you stay away from problem spots and get off and walk around mud patches rather than contributing to trail erosion. Pretty isolated wet patches overall trail surface was dry.

I would call the following trails Green: Upper Seuss Land (with the usual puddles), (sh)It Happens, Bjs, Snakes and Ladders, Jumping the Gun, Black Boy

Following trails are yellow with minimal mud patches: Upper Kenny's, High Roller, lower Seuss Land

The following trails need to be left well alone: Shaft (photos attached) and the sniggle round the shit works fence from the bottom of shaft to the bottom of BJs is a mess. Also the track between to the two quarries/jump sites is sludge and needs to be left alone, probably until summer!

Lower Kenny's/Bailey's paddock is muddy which is annoying as if this was ok then a loop would still be possible. The Fire trail linkages are all ok, although still damp in places.

With more windy dry weather this could all dry out over the next few days, but rain forecast for the weekend Sad

Great status update.

Looks like we will just have to weather the use of shaft, then do some major tidy up once it's dried out. I think this is the worst it wil be. Once it dries water should sheet off better.

There's one or two spots on Shaft that need their drainage worked out a little I think, would be fairly minor work but at the moment water is pooling on the trail then getting ridden into the trail surface. Overall the surface of shaft is dry but I call it red as those mud patches are unavoidable so anyone riding will be making those bits worse unless they get off and walk (which I can't see happening so much on a swooping fast trail!).

Feel like we just need a big roller like they use on cricket pitches.... smooth out all the tyre tracks before they dry into ruts.

To post recently, but have been keeping an eye on the trails. These couple of spots are one of the reasons I posted Amber status last week, most of the park is OK but we,ve just got a few areas of problem.

Shame we got that 'extra' rain Saturday night.

Makes it really hard to manage cause the rest is OK to ride.

I'll probably get some short term fix done on these today but the main work will have to wait until our next trailwork day on the 18th.

Thanks for the 'in depth' report - Well Done!

Rode late this arvo 95% sweet except for the puddles most area are dry almost dusty in some parts ...has some trail fairies been working on shaft ?

I'm no fairy Shocked but I did some tidy up there today.

I figure it was either going to dry out and leave ruts or more likely rain again and make the problems worse, so just some minor work till Sat. 18th.

From what I've seen the trails are drying quick and we could go to green, but I'm not putting that up with with my rep and the weather that's hanging around.
