UST/Tubed debate resolved?
So... I rode the Jekyll (with the tubed tires) for the first time in a couple of months yesterday. Got a pinch type (think the tire almost rolled while climbing through/up the site of rocky gully) flat despite having 40PSI in them.
Having ridden UST for the last couple months without a hitch think this speaks volumes.

I'm conciderably heavier than you and don't ride with anywhere near as "smooth" a style either. I run tubes, generally at around the 40psi mark, and touch wood haven't had a flat of any discription for atleast 12months, probably longer. The last couple of rides I've actually dropped to 35psi to try and improve grip now that there are alot more loose rocks on our trails, will let you know how I fair.
BTW, for a while I was also running lightweight tubes, about half the weight of standard ones, and didn't have any probs with these either. Sadly they are the wrong valve for the new Spinergy wheels so I have gone back to standards until I find an excuse for ordering more gear
make sure you practice taking tubless tyres off.
I run tubeless tyres on my second bike and they are a pain in the a$$ to take off and put back on.
When you do finally get them back on a quality pump will be needed to "pop" them back into the bead (ie you need a good pressure), i actually prefer the usually setup with tubes mainly becuase its simple to fix if a flat does occur but everyones different and will have varying opinions. In dont run low pressures so pinch flats are not an issue (i run 45-50psi - most will say its too high but i find it the most comfortable for the riding i do)
Just in my case with the anthem (standard tube setup), approx 600km and 1 flat (cant complain with that)

P.S. i have actually got 2 flats (but 1 was on the way home from the dirtworks whilst it was on the back of the car not even touching the ground ???(probably picked up a slow leak in the last few k's of the dirtworks)
