Hi,
new to this site and new to Red Hill track. Went on Sunday 25th in the pouring rain. It was like swimming in the rain...you forget tis there when you get into it. Was riding through rivers of water pretty much up to our knees. Some rocks were a little dodgie to go down with the gushing water. one of the most awesome rides i have ever done.

Do you have more information?

If you've ridden here lately please add a more recent report. This will be useful even if the condition is the same as updates expire after 30 days.
Please do not post comments with such information - post a new update with the link above.

The place is pretty well f@#$%& due to people not respecting the trails. Hope it was worth it.

@oldandslow... way to welcome a new user.

Instead of throwing insults perhaps it would be better to show a little tact and explain that generally, people don't ride in the rain as it's bad for the trails and bad for their bike.

At least they posted a status update Sticking out tongue

Whilst I'll concede my message was blunt and perhaps lacked tact. There were definitely no insults.

To the OP, no offense was intended, and apologies if I upset you, but please refrain from riding the trails when wet.

Is that OK ?

instead of not riding in the wet can we do some trail maintenance up there t sort out some of the problem areas that take a month to dry out, enough people ride these tracks and should help in the maintenance of them?

any thoughts?

The actual "problem areas" start in the car park, easy to spot as they are labeled Suzuki, Yamaha and Kawazaki...

The water problem areas up there can't be fixed easily, trails need to avoid those particular wetland/creek areas.

o.k so why don't we make some new trails avoiding these wet areas and also very importantly built is such a way as they will not perferred but motos.

All,

It is great that you guys want to address this and resolve issues.

Many of us have been working with land managers, Council, NPWS, green groups, rider reps and shops over the last 18 months at forums held at Warringah Council to achieve this. These have been invite only from myself and the Mayor to key groups (but not land owners yet). Please send me a message if you wish to help out and have ideas.

However any unapproved construction will be a MAJOR set back for our efforts to date.

There are many sensitivities (heritage and environmental) and also mulitple land managers in this region, the current trails pass through Council, Church, MALC, Council, Crown and Department of Education and also private land. We are currently in early stages of discussion. Mike Bairds office is also helping set up meetings. We recently did an informal walk through with a trail auditor, drainage engineers and environmental specialists.

Also note that the Crown land is currently waiting for Draft Plan of Management to be approved. NobMoB submitted a report and support for this in 2009. A key positive action in the PoM is to engage rider user groups and to create sustainable trails in this region.
