Not happy Wiggle!!!!!

18 days after a $250+ order and my order is no where to be seen.

This my second order through Wiggle... the first took over 10 days to be delivered... thought I'd give them another shot.

Is this normal or have I just had two bad experiences?

Or more correctly - within the range of "normal". Give it a few more days.

I received yesterday a Chain Reaction Cycles order shipped on October 20th - so that was a 25 day delivery. I'm guessing a Qantas shutdown plus a few other strikes might have played a part as I normally get orders from CRC within 10 days.

My normal expectation for UK and Europe deliveries is one to three weeks. One to two weeks from North America, and one week from New Zealand Smiling

Wiggle and CRC are so random. If you want guaranteed fast delivery go jensonusa for sure. 3-4 days maximum door to door.

danielschipper's picture

Will try Jenson next time... Wiggle have lost me as a customer!

stephen's picture

Jenson is the way to go, never waited more than 5 days for any order and orders over $300 to AUS free shipping..

Brian's picture

The free shipping for jenson was just a short term offer and is no longer applicable.

I got sick of waiting on Wiggle/CRC free postage 20 odd days routine. I now select DHL in my CRC orders. Costs $30 usually and trackable and if you order Thurs/Fri you will have it Monday if your lucky.
Example looked at a Racing Ralph locally $109 - CRC $54 order two - add $30 and its $138 for two tyres instead of $218 locally - even with DHL still too cheap to pass up.

I've ordered from wiggle 3 times and got the gear in a week each time using the std postage.
I've done one order from CRC on a thursday night and got it on the next Monday.
Jenson was about a week for the only order I've had from them.
T7 are shocking for where they are, usually 5-7 days.
If I want things to arrive within 2 business days I always order off Cell bikes, of all the orders I've placed with them they have always been dispatched the same day if the order is early enough and arrive the day after.
Cycling Express is only as good as T7.

Select a postage option with tracking and you'll have it in 10 days max (in my experience)
Goes for wiggle and CRC...
Only about 10$ extra.

It's often not Wiggle or CRC's doing. Postage out of the UK is hugely dependant on the Royal Mail. Delivery for standard mail this time of year always takes longer to process due to the immanent festive season. Royal Mail often post a cut-off date for deliveries this side of Xmas on their website so be careful if you want the goods in a hurry.

I've never had a problem with goods from either company. It routinely takes around 10 days but has taken longer. If you check out the mail mark you'll often see it was sent out of the warehouse only a few days after payment but then was held up at Royal Mail/Customs. The same could happen to USA goods.

Just my ten bob worth Eye-wink

With Wiggle I have found their free shipping is a bit random, sometimes up to 2 weeks.

The paid options are very good though - a guy in our office just ordered something that showed up in 3-4 days I think.

Did they have all your gear in stock? Last order I made was for just a couple of items, one of which was out of stock. In this case they sent the first immediately and the second very shortly (like 2-3 days I think it was) later. You can't really complain about this, especially when the shipping is free. Think both items showed up just over a week after getting the shipping notice.

FWIW, I recently returned an item to Wiggle and took 7 days to get back for the 27 bucks I paid Aus Post to return (yes - annoying but better than an item I didn't want the bother of trying to sell here). Again, when you look at this it's clear what good value some O/S store's free shipping options are.

As we're on the subject I have to say CRC are outstanding. I have had several very large items shipped for free. Once a 27kg wind trainer that came via UPS! I'm currently looking to ship around 30kg of gear to Europe and can tell you - that sort of shipping is bl00dy expensive ($300+)!

Had an order from Wiggle take almost 5 weeks around this time last year and recently ordered some stuff and it was here in a week.

CRC is always quick.

ps's picture

Ordered from Wiggle on the 3rd Nov, delivered on the 7th. Think I took the paid option. The DHL tracking link was good and you can see it clear customs and move through the various fights.

Looks like you get what you pay for with shipping.

GiantNut (not directed at you personally Smiling ), not sure where you are looking for Schwalbe tyres. But I just checked the price of the Evo Racing ralph. 26x2.25 at CRC = $57.73. At Northern Beaches Cycles it's $59.95 (thier everyday price). Don't know why anyone would even bother buying OS. I found that with most stuff they sell, it is similarly priced, plus you get the service and backup. Except when it comes to Shimano/Sram, and stuff like that. For some reason, the importers/distributors just aren't allowing the LBS's to compete.

hawkeye's picture

The RRP for Schwalbe's Evo triple compound tubeless (or whatever they're calling it this week) is in the high nineties, based on what the distributor was selling them for at The Mont 2011 and on what I've seen them for elsewhere.

There is a lower-spec wire bead version that's single compound that has a RRP of $59.95.

Are you sure you're not confusing the two?

stefan43's picture

there's about 17 versions of any Schwalbe tyre.
Racing Ralphs for example range from about 450g in the evolution tubeless ready version to about 650g in the triple nano snakeskin double defense whatever version.
and then there's all that again for each size from 1.8 to 2.25, 29er and cyclocross.
think you'll be struggling to find any of the lighter versions at your LBS and def. not under 80$

evan's picture

Every time I've order from Wiggle I have had the stuff in my hands within 5 working days. Same goes for CRC and Jenson all really quick. Never used the paid for mail option.
T7 usually about 7-10 working days.

Cheers
Evan

The ones at NBC are folding bead ones and weigh, on my scales about 520g (if I recall correctly) in 2.25. NBCs retail is 59.95. I run them on my Rush and I've got a Nobby Nic in the same version on my All mountain rig.

marto71's picture

you may also want to look at the time of year, i know the posties have started working saturdays, and as always international orders are always slow from november onwards, there are a lot of parcels getting sent over the next 6 weeks or so

GiantNut's picture

Muvro - I know me and lots of my MaMIL mates who have tried to support NBC - but we all think we must be doing something wrong.

danielschipper's picture

Finally arrived today.

Happy days! Can service the bike tomorrow evening then ride on the weekend. Love it

Dicko's picture

Guys - I am over 30 and had great service from Adrian the other half of NBC.

My bikes have always been well looked after, and he has turned around things quickly when I am in a spot.

Prices are also reasonable.

Chuck's picture

CRC just took 5 weeks via Royal mail.

muvro's picture

What's MaMil???

I too am over 30. So not sure what you mean...

Simon's picture

The orders I've made from T7 have been dispatched same day. Then wait 7 days in Sydney customs and 2-3 days with Australia Post to deliver to a Sydney address.

+1 NBC!!!

Finding LBS's that stock the exact tyre you want (if you want a specific product item) can be a pain in the arse. I never buy tyres from an LBS anymore. I will always buy them on-line.

With Scwable for example, there are about 3-5 versions of a Racing Ralf 2.25 folding. Even when you go into the store and look at the new Scwable stands (that only some stores have), if you rummage through the actual stock you will find only about %25 of the product types are stocked.

The little Swable sample tyre thing (on a ring) is excellent though if you have seen it. All tyre manufacturers should provide LBS's with them.

+1 to JensonUSA

Robbiejuve's picture

I have ordered about 6 times over 2 years, every time 5 days delivered.

My last order ($200) has just passed 3 weeks. I will give it a month and then will contact them to see the next step. I am reluctant to be pushy because they have been great so far and I like them

All Wiggle can do is send the package out the door, I really cannot see how anyone can blame them for what happens after that although they should offer registered mail as I wouldn't want an expensive wheelset go missing like this.

You have to understand that anywhere along the freight route is open to theft and you can bet it does happen with these unregistered packages. Every now and again a postal worker will see a nice heavy looking unregistered package and pinch it.

ps's picture

Just dropped my bike off for a service at the LBS. The folding Schwalbe's varied in price from $55 to $119 for different versions of the same tyre. There is a difference in the specifications so you gotta compare apples with apples.

pancakes's picture

I've always had good old fashioned service from NBC. Their prices on the whole aren't too bad. I'll still buy from O/S when there's a major $$$ saving but then often NBC will pick up $ by doing some fitting. win-win?

Oh I am just over 30 though....I wish lol
