Details:

The SRAM Singletrack Mind Series features six mountain bike endurance events, of 7 or 8 hours duration. They will take you to six different locations in NSW and ACT, each one renowned for its flowing singletrack and fun factor.

Round 8¼ appears to be cursed by bad weather as it has been rescheduled twice this year due to heavy rain! However, prepare for the best Xmas party ever, Santa has confirmed he's now racing (sans Reindeer!) as a warm up event for his Christmas marathon, though he is a singlespeeder which is a little sus ... There will also be beer, chocolate, good tunes (no Xmas musak!), a truly ludicrous amount of prizes to give away and of course 8 ¼ hours of Awaba's fine singletrack, the best present a mountain biker could ever have, so start the celebrations early with us on 18 December!
With its fast flowing singletrack and no major climbs, Awaba State Forest is mtb nirvana, and we can’t wait to have the 2011 SRAM Singletrack Mind Series Finale here.

The queen has gone home & Barrack has gone home , so who r these celebs ?

Fi's picture

The beer has been sampled as part of our quality control process. I'm sure you'd prefer that we didn't serve you dud beer on the day ... we're happy to say it's very drinkable!

'Celebrity guests' is our team name Smiling

Fatboy's picture

If anyone is looking to enter a 2 man team Tommy & I unfortunately can't make the new date which is a bummer!

Pm if interested. Selling cheap!

philberesford's picture

I was looking forward to catching up and chatting bike sh!t. Next time

Fatboy's picture

Yeh it is a bummer Phil. Being last event for the year and a team event Tommy & I were going to treat it as a fun day (no carb loading, drinking plenty of alcohol the night before ...). I certainly we have been up for talking bike shit with you. I'm a far better shit talker than rider!

I'll be on a plane heading home from an Asian junket so couldn't work around it.

I hope it doesn't rain for you.

Hi Fi
Are we going to have a choice between camelbak climb or the straw?
Cheers
Brian

Fi's picture

Hi Brian

There will be no choice ... the course that HMBA sets will be ridden by all! Except for the juniors, who will do a shortened loop.

Cheers

Fi

Thank you. By choice I meant not before the race but for each lap. EG. If you feel you have the legs you can go straight up, if not you can take the other option.

Anyway, either way will be good as long as we know before hand and if there's only one way just make sure the other way is blocked because all the races I've done there you could choose.

We don't want any innocent short cuts Eye-wink

Cheers
Brian

So has everyone got their tyre selection sorted Eye-wink

craked's picture

tyre selection sorted ,thanks Brian Smiling

Just reading through the rules. Just thought I'd point out number 13 as you wouldn't want a time penalty.

Just been making travel plans we usually camp but we've decided to drive up on the morning instead this year. Leave Sydney at 4.30 arrive 6.30. Easy.

Brian's picture

I'll be there around then. Will give time to set up the base, warm the legs up and get to the start line. I'm so pumped for this I think I'm at about 150bpm just thinking about it. Can't wait Smiling

Dicko's picture

Dont forget your $20 for the pot !

well done Mike from the iron horse ponies in taking Out the individual time trial yesterday - and walking a way with a cool $100. And great effort t o the "good the bad and the ugly" in taking out the team rivalry.

this sets up a great showdown for next year !!

Great stuff gentlemen on a very competitive race.

craked's picture

what an awesome day ,and great rivalry between mates, really added to the fun of a well organised event, great work to the chocolate foot team .

Some good racing out there yesterday. It was a very well run event (except for the start and lap 1 but there isn't really any other options I guess).
Thanks to Craig, Dicko and Brain for letting me crash the party, it was good to have some people to talk to between laps.
We ended up racing male pairs and came in 13th - not bad for my first pairs event and only 4th race ever.
Managed 6 laps but cramped up bad on the 3rd, 4th and 5th and just rolled around for a 6th. Managed a 39:19 on lap 2. Weird thing is I rarely cramp and was talking about cramping with craig on the Saturday arvo - must have put a hex on myself.
Cheers.
