So my inlaws are visiting from Canada. I did up some of our MTBs with slicks and stuff so they could cruise around Newy.
On their first ride, they locked them up in the city today and they got nicked. They'll be easy to spot...they are kinda oddly spec'd.

Please keep an eye out for them. I've included some photos below, but they are a little out of date with some of the components.
Thanks and Happy New Year!
Ken.

That sucks!!!

Make sure to report the Serial Numbers to the police, if you dont have these they can often be obtained fom the bike store they where purchased from as they often keep a record themselves. If you bought them 2nd hand try and contact the seller.

This way if they get sold to a Pawn Shop a red flag should come up with the serial numbers.

Also do regular searches on ebay and gumtree.

I heard a recent success story with a stolen bike being found on ebay a few months later buy chance of him shopping for a new bike. The owner contacted the police, the online sale was frozen and after a police investigation he will be getting his bike back. The serial number was proof of ownership!

Wish you luck

Do you have home contents insurance cover? On many policies they may be covered for loss outside home.

The police have been notified and given full descriptions (including serial numbers) -- hopefully that'll slow the buggers down. They weren't entirely stupid thieves, they new which bike racks were covered by CCTV and which weren't.

Contents insurance should cover it, but we are still waiting to hear the details from the insurance company. They've been closed until today I guess.

We'll see what happens. Might be time to get that 29er.....

For example, I would not volunteer that they were under the control of people who are not direct family members at the time of the theft.

However, you do need to answer the questions they do ask honestly.

You will be required to furnish proof of ownership.
