1. Try clicking on the "rides" tab at the top of the page and scroll down on the RHS menu to "Other NSW" - you'll find a few tips there.
2. Also try searching for "The Angry Doctor" - I'm sure there's a garmin map or similar of that famously leg-ripping course on this web site.
3. Try talking to the guys at Batemans Bay Cycles, 8 North Street, Batemans Bay, or Moruya Bicycles 10 Ford St Moruya - they should have current info on what trail conditions are like and what might be closest to where you are staying.

There are plenty of great fire trails and some decent single track about the place, just explore when you get down there, you are bound to meet up with other MTB riders. My wife and I were down there two years ago, she doesn't like single track too much but hanging out on the fire trails was great fun just the same.

As Lach said the Angry Doctor is an annual 100km race held there. If you head south from Batemans for about 10-15km you come to Mogo. The event starts from there and does about a 50km loop on the eastern side of the highway then back to Mogo and a 50km loop on the western side.

The first half of the race course is very accessible. Any of the fire roads from the highway along the stretch between Mogo and about 3km south of Batemans all take you onto the track within 500m.

The single track on the western side is much better but is a bit further inland from the highway. Best go through Mogo, across the bridge after the shopping strip then turn right as you head south and you come to an oval. The road on the south side of the oval that heads west is the best bet as there is single track either side of it. You don't have to drive more than about 6km. In there somewhere is the "snake track" so look it up as it's awesome.

I am heading down to Batemans Saturday week and hope to do a bit of riding. I would enjoy some company if you are still there, especially out at Mogo - it can get a bit snakey- last time out there saw a whopper brown snake the width of the firetrail.

@ CROMERBOY A brown snake the width of a fire trail – must have eaten a horse whole and sideways! This just confirms the perception for us POM's that all Australian animals and bugs are 1. nasty and dangerous and, 2. big!

Haha - Charlie just to clarify he was as long as the firetrail was wide (2-3m)- not all of them are nasty - we've got a 6ft diamond python decide to call our backyard home while he digests a big lump in his belly - he's not dangerous - except whatever is inside him may disagree!
