West Head: Salvation + Towlers

This is good if you really, really don't want to pay the Ku-ring-gai Park entry fee as the start is from the parking area by McCarrs Creek Road just outside the gate (corner with West Head Road).

Downside is quiet a lot of this distance is on the road, which is where to start: head up West Head road, past the National Park entrance then bear right to follow West Head road at (almost) the top of the hill.

The first firetrail on the left is Waratah Track but that isn't included in this route so carry on then take the left shortly after down Salvation. There's a junction along here where we head left and take each of the trails at the next fork out and back. There's some surprisingly tricky stuff along here:

Leaving these dead end's behind, turn left and follow the rest of Salvation back to West Head road. Left for a short distance than you'll find Towlers Bay on the right. This is a steep out and back, so be careful on the way down and take it easy on the way back...

Then it's time to head back to the start, all on the road I'm afraid. Although... those with energy still to burn could add Elvina (monster hill) or Waratah but these options are not included in this route.
