hey guys I've had problems with my go pro ranging from it rattling inside its case when riding to the bracket holding it to the mount breaking. the new mount cost me $7 plus $9 postage(what a rip off)

I've tried bubble rap to stop the rattle but that hasn't worked

any suggestions?>>>>...

Has it lost the spongy type strip that is on the door of the housing?
This is usually what keeps mine snug in the case.

You could try some of that padded tape type stuff on the door of the housing to make it push the camera forwards in the housing.

As for the mount breaking, I've never had that happen, but I also try to use the rubber plug thing that goes in the mount to reduce movement.
Its the white little U shaped thing in this image.

Mine rattled like a string of a thousand Tom Thumbs going off on Chinese New Year. Sad

But it was the QR mount clip in the Chesty mount that was the issue, not the camera in the housing. The rubber bung (that is no longer included but I got sent to me separately) made the QR clip so stupidly tight I couldn't get it in to the mount. Useless.

Problem was instead solved by putting two layers of vinyl electricians tape on the flat face of the socket under where the QR clip goes in. Viola! No more firecracker noises, and still readily detachable.

I've seen tricks ranging from sticking something soft and squishy inside the case, like earplugs or some tape to hold it in firmer.

But most of the rattling isn't inside the case, it's from the bracket its joined to. You get a little rubber doohickey thingy that stops the rattling sound when it's connected to mounts such as the chest mount, helmet mount and the stick on clip in mounts.

I've never broken a mount before. Maybe you've overstressed something?

I had a mount broken in transit when I bought my GoPro a few months ago, and broke another one while snowboarding (2 days riding, no crashes). I sent pictures to the guy I bought it off (Shane at hdsports.com.au) and he sent me out 2 new mounts free of charge, even though GoPro themselves don't warranty the mounts. Maybe I just got lucky or had a nice smile, but that sort of customer service is awesome.

Also the bung is supposed to be pushed down into the back of the brackets AFTER you've mounted it, as its other job is to stop the brackets unclipping. I highly recommend using it if you have it, it also stops the camera shaking so much (only slightly, but still something).

As far as mounts go, remember that unless the camera case is being mounted to the screw bracket, you don't need to do it up any more than snug.

I've done all that properly and it still has the black foam stuff on the door but yet it still rattles

Where exactly is it mounted?

Launch gave me heaps of support for my GoPro noise issues, it's sweet as now. A bit of electrical tape and the GoPro white spacer thing and it's all good. I have added some gaffer tape on the camera itself, which I believe reduces the movement between the camera and the body/mount.

could you post a picture of what you've done with the gaffa tape?
