thx to whoever closed that little short cut on shaft around the puddle too. a side trail born of necessity and closed now and hopefully the little rocks do their job.

be careful around the shitworks too btw, b doubles going in and out atm, and at the entrance there were a few cars parked - no need to shit them off lol.

I still cannot believe riders would not ride over them rocks!-could only just throw ripped up Bituu bush over it so I am expecting some roadies oops I mean mountain bikers to open it up again!!!

The side track was wrong but nicer!

Ride over rocks with my new S-Works tyres?! I don't want to scratch 'em! Sticking out tongue

looks as if there will be digging a trench from fence upwards & across our track from Shaft-there is still room to go past but this may disappear & also heaps of machinary around too.

Better than a big trench.

rocks are a temporary measure. I gathered those just to fill the hole for now. The bog was growing and growing, came across the diversion, thought it best to fill the hole. It isn't ideal, however it was all i had time for. Should hold up for a couple of months before i can get in there to lay a bit of a path through the section.

I saw those rocks last weekend and after a ride at appin the week before I felt like i was on Tarmac in comparison. So no complaints here. Good job. I also understand why they call the appin race the "rock wallaby" now. Crikey the 50kms will test me.

This is a great lesson for all the trailbuilders out there – MTBer’s will ride around a pebble!

People don’t automatically understand the reasons behind a trail feature or fix no matter how well conceived.
Even riders with the best intentions can just react to avoid something, especially if there is an obvious alternative.

So it can take a bit more than just repairing the damage to prevent further problems.

BTW, thanks for your efforts Refresh Smiling
