Just for a ride thinking I could do a wet loop. Here are my notes from the ride.

Double Barrel - I'm going to call it green, few slippery bits but otherwise fine.
Twisties - Red, its a mess best avoided and the bottom is a slippery chute.
Reload - Green, initial section of fire road is a little slippery, otherwise fine. Some of the Bamboo is down.
Kenny's - Red/Amber Its a mess, not sure it will get worse. Just boggy and slippery in the usual spots.
Baileys - Red, resembles a cyclocross track. Main big plus a few smaller ones.
High Roller - Only rode the first half, Amber. Beware the big rock in the g-out, bit slippery on the entrance and it would be easy to hit the side of.
BJ's - Top half would be green, bottom half red/Amber. So I am giving the trail a red, best avoided.

The management trail at the bottom of BJ's/It Happens is OK until you climb out of the gully. DOn't expect any traction at all, if your coming down in a northerly direction, don't expect to stop on the descent.

Hang Ten - Green
Snakes and Ladders - Green, small puddle on the first corner then sweet.
Seismick - green as usual.
Pump action - didn't go in but it looked very wet.
Six Shooter - Amber couple of puddles otherwise fine. Jumps were sweet.
Easy Way Out - Amber, few sloppy and slippery sections.

The main management trail is wet as usual.

Sitting on the fence here between red and amber, but I really couldn't give a loop that was clean(ish) so I am going to give it a red. I didn't get over to shaft as my rear brake exploded, but given anywhere with clay was holding water I would imagine that Shaft and possibly Suess Land would have been Red.

Didn't check the big dipper but again I am guessing it would have been a sloppy mess.

Do you have more information?

If you've ridden here lately please add a more recent report. This will be useful even if the condition is the same as updates expire after 30 days.

Do you reckon it would be dry for tomorrow?

I went for a ride late arvo, expecting not too bad conditions, but it was very muddy overall, i entered in at shaft and wish i hadnt, a good guide is how zeuess land is - and its muddy and slippery. I went and had a look at BJ's, and the new work is brilliantly dry, but the lower half was forgettable and slow. If it was windy today it might dry a bit, but that whole side near scenic is rubbish to ride, and experience tells me not for 2 days (by then the rain will come of course), so keep to the drier trails on the other side.

All the steep management trails in clay are also spinning and collecting mud on tyres too. I'd do a few circuits around s&l and easy way out with GCR, and up through blackboy from the creek crossing with the potholes back onto fernleigh and around the other side on the higher elevations was pretty good.

It really was surprisingly wet.

I agree though, you could possibly form a loop gong from the gate, down the power line and around fernleigh, then down the management trail to the first creek, following the management trail to S&L, then onto Seismick, onto Gun club, down the power line easement to Reload and back to the start.

You would get wet on the management trails, buit the single trails in that loop are pretty good. Gernerally though, the north side of GunClub is a mess.

With rain forecast to start tonight and continue till friday though, I don;t think even a wet loop will help.

Btw sd, saw your photos, did you carry your new white bike over the puddles , or were you cleaning it with your jersey every 10 minutes- voz man that bike looked polished?

Don't worry, it was dirty. Took me a fair while to clean it up when I got home.

It was still pretty wet and muddy on the Scenic Drive side, wetter than I would have thought.

This area is not normally too bad so I can't imagine it's any better than red anywhere else.

And if they aren't red, it will be tomorrow morning. Supposedly some heavy rain on the way. I just set the roadie up for an early morning ride just to make sure it goes bad.
