Can anyone confirm this? Two wheel promotions posted it on the promo for a ride event...
I will give it a go and let you know.

LOCKED YOUR KEYS IN THE CAR? Does your car have remote keys? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a mobile phone. If you lock your keys in the car & have a spare set at home, call someone at home on their mobile from your mobile. Hold your mobile about a foot from your car door & have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone having to drive your keys to you. DIstance is no object. You coauld be hundreds of miles away & if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the boot)

I really didnt think so...

In the old days of tone (dtmf)based alarms and security systems you could record the tones and play them back at the system to gain entry. You will note that systems now mask the tones to prevent this...
The RF frequencies generated from the key fob would be well above the frequency limit of the speech path of a mobile phone and therefore would not be transmitted at all..... agreed Myth busted.

This used to be the case in the uk where naughty man would be hiding in Tescos car parks with a Casio watch that would have a feature where it could be used as a remote control for the tv and video. They used to record the pulse coming from the remote of car alarms and then steal the cars. Clever boys
