Manly Dam

Amber/Some Issues

Very wet this morning, lots of puddles around and some quite large. I won't be riding it again until its had a day or two of sun, it's soaked!! Sad

Do you have more information?

packed the bike in the car thinking of doing a ride at lunch time, but by 10am I know the trail was gonna be quite wet.

It actually needed some rain as was getting a bit loose!

I did a spin around the Dam this afternoon in the drizzle.

From the Hydraulics Lab to the Wakehurst Parkway single track is dry and sandy. There are a few small puddles after the downhill to Golf Course Rock and a couple more from there up to the rock gardens - all of them avoidable. The singletrack itself is damp but firm. The road downhill to Curl Curl Creek is dry and continues dry to the top of Heartbreak Hill. The hill itself is covered in loose rocks so the rain must have really been sheeting down there to cause so much erosion; the track itself is now dry. Then there are the usual wet bits along to the 19th Hole. And then it is dry from there back to the bottom.

I personally would probably call Manly Dam "green" and note some puddles - except that is was raining as I rode so maybe not Smiling

But we'll be back to green by the weekend if the weather forecast is correct.

+!. Don't mind cascades with a bit of moisture. Can get a bit hairy when the approach face on the downhill waterbars is full of loose dry sand, and on some of them you're still leaned over cornering..
