OMV is NOW CLOSED for 3 weeks until the official opening takes place. This is the official council notice.

The Hornsby Mountain Bike Trail official opening is proposed to take place in around 3 weeks time.
DANGER
Until the trail is officially opened, workers may be present on the trail and have right of way. Public use of this trail is currently NOT PERMITTED.
This closure applies to all GREEN, BLUE & BLACK trails.

Please can you confirm if this is legit, as snorc Facebook page says " I'm hoping it applies to just closing the Green section while under construction and not the whole OMV trail network. Will keep you posted. - Noel"

And there's your problem. Hornsby Council is the land manager here. Not SNORC. Not Synergy Trails.
Where are the updates from the council?
The update from council is the new sign that they have put up at OMV which winco has posted. All the trails are closed -green, blue and black. My understanding is that they are yet to be opened as it is still a construction zone. I wasn't aware of council opening the trail. I suspect the unexpected level of popularity has prompted Council to make the situation clearer. I know council is trying to get signage and parking more organised and signposted prior to people turning up and getting confused and frustrated.
The trail was 'unofficially open' until this weekend. It is definitely closed until further official notice. This closure applies to all GREEN, BLUE & BLACK trails. Essentially, in case it is still not clear to anyone reading this status, the MTB Park is closed.

Does Hornsby Council post trail status updates on their website/facebook?
Not that we know of.
Perhaps someone with influence (a Hornsby local) might like to suggest opening an official account here and posting updates using the traffic lights section?
