Ellie's looking for somewhere to stay

Just got the following PM from Ellie. Her accommodation for Sydney has fallen through and she is now looking for somewhere to stay. If you can help out please PM her.

I tried to post a help request on the Forum but think it might have got blocked as not being appropriate content because it’s not come up.
Anyway, the best laid plans…. I was going to be flying to Sydney early Feb but have hit a problem with my accommodation. So this contact is to ask if you would PLEASE put the word out for me amongst your friends that I’m suddenly in the position of desperately needing somewhere to stay.
The daughter I would have stayed with has just had notice to vacate her current place. Because she’s now waiting on her visa she can’t get a place of her own as she can’t take on a 6 month contract until her residence status is approved. I can stay with my other daughter for a while. However, that would mean sleeping in her front room with two dogs. Less than ideal long term but also not fair to inflict mother onto the poor girl for three months!
So do you know anyone who might want to rent me a room (with ensuite ideally) or who maybe even has a small apartment I could take on for a while? (I don’t smoke). Anywhere between Manly and Harbord or even a bit further north would be brilliant. Three months would be perfect but even if there is something for less than that period that would be a start and I could at least book my flight once have somewhere to stay.
Early in 2007 when I was in Oz was staying in various places through Home Exchanges. Can’t do Home Exchange this time as my UK house is in use and also this trip is very much a ‘spur of the moment’ thing. I want to come soon so as to catch the last of your Summer. By the way I also did a 3 week ‘house sit’ of a luxurious home at Palm Beach on the Barrenjoey Road so I can give great references.
At one point last year in between Home Exchanges stayed in a small Motel bed-sit room just off Manly Beach for a couple of weeks. But it was such a dive I can’t face something that grotty for 3 months. Not only that but as you might have picked up I’m quite outgoing and those places are a bit depressing as they’re so impersonal.
Naturally am not looking for a freebie and expect to pay the going rate."
