What a surprise. Bikes lanes encourage cycling, reduces congestion on the roads and makes you healthier Eye-wink

Good to see a positive story about cycling in the smh

SMH is generally pretty good with this stuff.

Elizabeth Farelly breathes a strong breeze of intellectual rigour into the urban environment and cycling reporting with her professional background and influence.

great rhetoric.. whatever? still can't see them fixing the simple stuff.
anyhow there's really nothing better to get you fired up for the day ahead like the heart starter one gets heading south along the parkway with a government bus or two brushing past you at 80kph! even more fun in the wet with the uneven surface and slippery white lines that separate our precious 8 or 9 inches of tar from the punters in a hurry to sit in the next traffic jam.

Yeah, I'd really like to see th parkway get tarred so there was a solid bike lane 1200 wide at least right the way along the Road, we can only dream.. LOL

Also a rework of the lanes up the steep part of powderworks rd. It needs to make a bike lane going up the hill, move the double lines over to the downhill side a bit more. It would make it a lot safer to get up that hill. Going up the bottom part with cars parked on both sides can be a heart starter in a car with tards coming the other way over the lines, let alone on a bike
