You can try going to the top of the hill and head back down or get a mate to show you.
A good place to start is behind the forensic science building heading north. There is a bit of stuff off the side of the right hand single track but it's not much. I'd call x country techy.

is it still worth checking out or is it not great?

It's funny how ones persons great trail is an others boring bit of sh..
It's close to town so worth a try, You may find your own piece of secret heaven.
Another place to look is between Wallsend and the rear of Maccas at Edgeworth. Nothing technical but can be fun.
Be adventurous. I lot of us have been riding a lot of crap in the hope of finding a gem.
And what some ones gem is another piece of crap.
Go out and have fun.

may as well check it out. still better than not riding at all

Just get out and explore. Half the fun of riding is exploring, you never know what you will stumble across.

Is there a map?

Have you followed the maps tab at the top and clicked on Jesmond?

http://glenrocktrailalliance.com/node/21882/map

I have mapped about 75% of it in the last few weeks.

For some reason it doesn't auto zoom in but a few clicks on the zoom in and you are there. There are also photos of many of the tracks that I have taken in the last month, you can either view them from the map or the gallery for Jesmond.

Is it any good? Depends on your taste. I can have fun there.

i may be a bit mentally challenged cause i couldnt find the jesmond map tab. but thanks anyway.

That's why I gave you a link to it Eye-wink

Either way just click Maps in the tabs up the top

Home | About | Maps | Calendar | Photos etc

Select the area you are interested in from the right in the resulting page:
Awaba State Forest
Glenrock State Conservation Area
Jesmond Park/John Hunter Hospital Hill
Old Bulga Road (Milbrodale)
Singleton MTB track
Warners Bay
Wollombi

The Jesmond page ends up here:
http://glenrocktrailalliance.com/node/21882

From there you can view the gallery, view the individual runs or look at the whole map, even download it as a gpx or kml.

Not sure why but the Jesmond map is one of the few that defaults to the whole world view on google maps and then requires you to zoom into it with about 20 clicks - either use the + sign top left or keep double clicking near the photo icon on the map.

Found an old POV camera in the cupboard over the weekend so strapped it on the handle bars and tried it out this morning. Resolution is fairly crappy but here are some single track clips from Jesmond.
