Group buying deal on MTB skills clinic

Hi All

I'm not normally a fan of group buying deals (groupon, living social etc), I think they're generally stupid and purile, but my good wife sent through this today which is worthwhile. It's a Living Social deal for an all-day beginner MTB skills clinic for $59, looks like its held either at terry Hills or Narabeen and you have till June 19 to use it. I'd say I'm an intermediate level rider but at that price it should be worthwhile even if I just pick up a few decent tips (dropoffs are my bugbear)

Here's the link to their site

In the interests of full disclosure; I've already paid up and they say if three more people join up from the link above I get my money refunded. I don't mind either way so feel free to use that link or go direct if you're interested, I'm certainly not trying to push it on anyone but just thought it might be of interest

I would also be very interested to hear some feedback about this particular MTB skills clinic.

BTW, Sydney Bike Skills is hosting a big intermediate and beginner MTB skills clinic at Terrey Hills/ St Ives in May. The details will be posted shortly on www.sydneybikeskills.com.au

The intermediate category will cater for people who would like to learn how to jump a bike properly. There will also be a bike maintenance session and a BBQ lunch for all included in the price.

The coaches are yet to be announced but they will be top of the line.

I joined in their recent weekend of riding at Wingello, which was a great deal of fun.
At the time I enquired about intermediate level lessons, and Lisa from Sydney Bike Skills highly recommended her partner, Peter, as the best person to teach these skills.
If Peter is the coach for the intermediate class, I shall be very interested in joining in.
Cheers,
Michael

Did the course today, thanks for the lead. We did basic bike maintenance first, then skills like techniques for hill climbs, braking skills, jump basics, front wheel hops and bunny hops. Then back for a bbq lunch then a ride out on the Perimeter track. It was great value for $50 and I would have been happy to pay the full price of $125. The instructor was excellent and knowledgable, plus a really good teacher and nice bloke. If there intermediate course is on later, I'd probably do that too. Today was a mixed level of beginners and intermediate, but I think the course catered for all of us really well.
