Uphill right of way is such a roadie thing. Why interrupt someones flowy downward fun?

Making them brake hard and potentially damage the trail?

Just saying is all....

LoL, funny sign.
This open the debate again of bi-directional trails and who should give way. Majority of the time its down to commen sence and being curtious.
A downhill rider is travelling at speed, takes longer to stop and may not be able to shift direction easly. An uphill rider can give way more easily but has then lost all momentum and may find it difficult to start again depending on steepness and surface.

Or GPS drift sucks. Wait to this happens to you on a KOM run. You go when its quiet, bust your hump doing a time and then due to GPS drift the segments do not pick up. Not worth the effort.
Another, a well known Terry Hills track you can take 10 mins off your time by simply turning around a couple of kays early - found this by accident.
It's a bit loose

Strava Acknowledges there is problems with their algorithm and user created segments that they cant do much about at the moment. This biggest problems are segments that are;
Full loops with the start and finish to close together - Can have trouble determining direction of travel.
Multiple laps - A segment may be recorded to do five laps, but you only need to do one to be on the leader board and a rediculous speed will be created as your time for one lap over the distance of 5 laps.
Out And Backs - The main catch for segments are the start and finish. The inbetween can sometimes not link correctly.
