Well this morning I added a $4k Trek Superfly Al100 Pro to my collection. After info being thrown at me left right and centre, I was able to sort down to Anthem, Superfly, Scalpel and Epic, a bit more choosing put me down to Epic and Superfly, and after riding a fried‘s trek for the second time I could NOT resist it.

Thanks to everone whose advice I received, it helped a lot as I made a verdict and I think I've made the right one. I got it from Turramurra Cycles and would like to comment on how great the service there was. Each time I went in someone would ask me if I needed anything and everyone I spoke to knew what they were talking about. Anyone who wants a shop with good links to racing, TC is fantastic with both a MTB and road bike club.

That being said, I think that Northside Cycles in Chatswood rates a mention (where the specialized were) as the guys I spoke to there were also knowledgeable and convinced me the Epic was a great bike. The only real thing that turned me off was the distance of them in relation to me.

Anyway, now it's time to get coached and learn how to ride PROPERLY.

See you out there.

Congratulations Tristan, that's an awesome bike, perfect for marathon races. No way I'll be keeping up with you now... But are you heading out tomorrow morning? I'll be on the XTC, riding from Thornleigh, should be at quarry track around 7:30 for an out and back, then a couple of laps of OMV from 8:30 or so.

Thanks JP if I were free that'd sound good, but no I'm going to be out today.... ironic as I STILL haven't ridden it! But I will at the first possible opportunity! Maybe next weekend though.

I have the same bike I got it 3 months ago. The bike is a weapon. In the past I was riding a Giant Trance 0.This bike is so much better. I am going to purchase a drop seat post. I think you have made a very good choice. Hope to see you out there on the trails. I normally ride at OMV and the Quarry Rd track from the Dural end. Good luck with your new bike.
