I'll be in the white ute, see you there!

Trycycle's picture

First time Nobmober. I'll be the noobie in the white Falcon sedan.

hawkeye's picture

That's mean, inflicting that on newbies lol

But the snives sniggle is worth it. Enjoy fellas. Disappointed I can't join you. Sad

sikllama's picture

Hehe yes quarry is always a challenge... the forecast is for blue skies and lots of sun so looking forward to a good ride.

Maybe next time hawkeye, promise the fitness is a little better than our ourimbah ride, and I'm about to shell out for a trek superfly duallie!

Jonathan's picture

heheh i did the quarry climb last week for the first time in like 2 years. Let me just say it hasn't changed in 2 years Sticking out tongue

Btw at this point i will be joining you guys, ill let you no otherwise Smiling

Trycycle's picture

Oh well, sounds like I'm in store for a wake up call on the fitness front! Anyone bringing a tow rope or hitch?

hawkeye's picture

I think the boot will be on the other foot next time, sikllama. Will be more than three weeks of zero activity at least before I can resume... back to square one for me, and going stir crazy Sad

Sounds good on the prospective purchase front. Have you looked at any other brands? Test ridden some?

rango's picture

Been meaning to try out some of these tracks so I'll be tagging along as well.

So far just tested the '13 Trek Superfly 100 and loved it around OMV - beat my previous time around there without even trying that hard, have booked a ride on a Giant Anthem 1 27.5 next week but think I want to stay 29er - doing it more to see if I like the 2 x 10 gearing. Looked at Specialized Epic which is nice but would rather stay with Shimano components. Any other duallie you think I should look at in the 3k price bracket?

Wow we have a few confirmed for tomorrow morning - sweet.

hawkeye's picture

A mate of mine s looking to try the new wheelsize but I thought test bike availability was further off

sikllama's picture

Yep - Giant sydney were more than happy to allow one out. Major neg is the lack of single trail in the CBD Smiling

count me in

hawkeye's picture

Ha! there's lots of fun stuff to ride up and down around the waterfront if you know where to look and are early enough before there are too many peds about Eye-wink

sikllama's picture

With the sun shining, no injuries and no major technical issues Im calling that a good morning out on the bike. As expected, the Quarry climb broke the peloton in half pretty early on. The centre track was alot rougher than I remembered - until I took the front fork off full lock *facepalm*.

Cheers.

And cheers guys for awesome ride and fantastic morning and great seeing everyone

CROMERBOY's picture

Good day out. Nice to meet some new faces as well as a catch up with some I haven't seen in ages. Cheers Rob for organizing - BTW pretty hard core going the hard tail with front lockout- suspension is overrated!
Steve

brakeburner's picture

Yep, Good to catch up with old and new faces, thanks Rob for posting the ride.

Trycycle's picture

Thanks for the ride guys, it was a great first time group ride for the noobie. See you again when the calves have stopped burning!! In the words of the Governator...I'll be back.

Rob's picture

Thanks for posting up the profile... that looks like a pretty interesting loop.

Although I saw Heckler after and he said he'd taken that descent of Ryland, over the creek and back up Sandy. Reckon that would be the go... the climb out from that creek makes Quarry look like a breeze mind Eye-wink

Thanks for organising this Rob. It was great to meet everyone and I really enjoyed the ride.
