Hi this is the first time I have done a trail maintenance day is there anything that I need to bring

Apologies for late response. Could be warm. Bring hat, sturdy shoes, garden gloves, sunscreen, water for a few hours and probably something to snack on.

She's going to write a post about the offender but did anyone recognize a guy in knee/shin pads, black backpack and a red top?

hawkeye's picture

Have sent you a PM.

A few extra hands made the work much lighter.

We extended and finished off the section near Cootamundra that we started earlier this year. There was evidence of water pooling at the start, so we dug it out, laid a rock base and some drains, an put the soil back on top to lift it by 150mm or so and fix the drainage.

Chris the ranger managed to find a Council guy with chainsaw certification who was available to take care of the fallen tree.

Happy to help and was good to see the end result of all our work

Good work guys!

It's good to do trail maintenance - you get to learn how to fix trails, you get to chat MTB ad nauseum, and you get karma trail brownie points to feather your cap (to mash a mix of metaphors...).

Have just ordered a trail tool from NZ Trail Fund. Looking forward to getting it and putting it to use.

Here's a link...

How much was shipping from the land of the long white ... mustache?

sly_artichoke's picture

Site says shipping included...but...that's for Kiwis. Once through the checkout I got an email saying mail over the ditch is a bit more ($15NZ donation to the NZ Trail Fund). I just chipped in $20 which was much appreciated. So all up for me around $140NZ which is around $125AU.
