AMBC Wingello MTB Skills Weekend

The AMBC crew are packing up and camping out for a fantastic XC skills weekend with a series of training sessions and rides with our great team of instructors that will improve your riding, plus guarantee alot of fun!

This weekend will provide you with the opportunity to improve your riding skills in a social & relaxed environment. On offer will be a range of sessions targeted at improving your riding on both singletrack and trails in the Wingello region

As we want to make this weekend for everyone, families are welcome to come along as well. For $100 per non-rider and $50 per child (under 14), we can also cater for non-riding family members!

So, if you're the type of person who likes to keep learning and keen to improve your riding to take it to the next level, this camp is for you !

This weekend we be all about you, and we will be running sessions targeted at a range of levels - some co-ed and some chix only.

Some of the things we'll cover in both novice and intermediate/advanced levels:

~ Rocky and loose riding
~ Climbing
~ Steep, tight & loose pinches
~ Line choice
~ Cornering - types and techniques
~ Obstacles and jumps
~ Balance - trackstands, nose wheelies, tricks, etc
~ Braking
~ Racing techniques
~ Bike maintenance
~ Bike Setup
~ Bike-fitting session

Southern Highlands Cycling Club is also holding a MTB race in the area on the first morning, so you can either participate in it, or sit on the sidelines and watch the action!


Nestled in the Southern Highlands, Wingello State Forest is the home of the Highland Fling and is a mtbers paradise. With landscape reminiscent of an old-English countryside, it boasts endless trails intermixed with hills, gullys and creeks to keep things interesting.
