Wow... Come to think of it.
After crossing a tiny creek at Lake Parra. It pissed down for 10 mins. Went back to the creek to see it become a raging rapid!

I've been caught out while walking in LCR NP. It was dry heading towards De Burg's bridge, pissed down for 15 min and on our return had waist-deep torrents (plus leeches...). I was pretty happy at the time to have a Brear Grylls moment on a short Sunday hike, 10 minutes from home...

Did you eat the leaches for sustenance?

Fish bait, much more nutrients in raw fish.

I learnt to be cautious going through there a few years ago when I got washed into the creek trying to cross when the water was thigh high.

Just riding home from work one afternoon but there'd been a storm in the Epping area. There wasn't even any water over the bike path at Brown's waterhole or the crossing at the bottom of the trail up to Pennant Hills, but there certainly was at the next one. As soon as the water caught the bike I was gone. I came up against a tree across the creek after a couple of metres but my bike kept going. Fortunately I went back that evening and found it, almost completely submerged in a pool a little way downstream.

This was the causeway that has recently been rebuilt after it was ruined by another flood a month after I was washed off it. I'm glad I was nowhere near that one.

I had an 'oh crap' moment at the same causeway as @MikeF back in late June this year. Scared the hell out of me and looking back I realise how silly I was even trying to cross. It had rained heavily the previous two days and the water was running at a decent pace. Had the shoes and socks off and the bike on the shoulders. About half way across, the water level reached the top of my knicks and I could feel myself losing grip and balance. Another couple of seconds and I was about to be washed off the causeway into a fast flowing angry river.

Made it across and out to Epping vowing not to be that stupid ever again. My stubbornness and determination nearly got me into a whole lot of trouble that day.

LCNP gets crazy after rain. Those causeways are a killer. Ruins the ride. Sad
