For the life of me I cannot fit the remote on to the handlebars. I think there is either a bolt missing or my shifter (LX with display) is in the way.
Im looking to bother the people who may have been in the same boat as me as I swear there is a bolt missing.
Otherwise I have to hang my head in shame and go to the LBS who are so used to seeing me when I buy stuff online and having to get them to fit it.
Any help would be appreciated, otherwise it's going to the classifieds Sad

Mine is roughly a year old and I mounted it to the handlebar between my shifters and grip. It uses a torx screw for the mounting. I just ducked outside and took these photos of mine. Hope it helps.

Yes that is what they look like. It is what the Rockshox remote lockout on my Lefty XLR will look like once I swap over to XT brakes. There is no "bit" missing apparently and Rockshox/Avid don't sell a part to fill the gap.

On the other hand if you have current Elixir brakes you can ditch the lever clamp and use this instead.

Both of my Reverbs came with an alloy 'spacer' that fills that gap

You can see it on the bottom pic in this review

My bike shop tells lies Sad

I have a SID XX fork with the remote Xloc which is the same bit of gear. They don't have a spacer either. Does it actually do anything? I can't see it doing more than a minor cosmetic role.

Seems that I need to get hold of that long bolt which my LBS did not stock but gave me a shorter one as a reference. Also my shifter is the older type which means I cannot removed the display and have to move the remote further along the bar.
It’s a right hand type but have seen that putting the remote on the opposite side to sop it getting damaged when putting the bike upside down on it’s bars is also a way forward.
Shame that they give you everything including stuff that you never need (alloy collar that doesn’t fit anything), and now have to hunt around for a bolt.
Thanks for your help and for the snaps and hope it is as good as they say.

That actually fits the stanchion of the Reverb. That way you can set a specific 'low' setting.
