So Apparently KS are developing a Wireless Electric powered Dropper Post. http://www.pinkbike.com/news/ks-electronic-wirel...

Seems this is the way that things are heading, with more and more electrical gear being integrated into bikes. EI rear shock, Di2 shifters now being added, plus the dropper post. One day someone is going to get an electric shock from shorting out while doing a river crossing. Upside is though, you may be able to use it to restart someone's heart during a heart attack!!

Not sure how that will take off, tbo.

Di2 is amazing on the road bike, I'd never go back, and I'll be getting Di2 on the Mt as soon as there is something to replace a 1x Saint, and I'm almost done converting the TT bike.

This reminds me of that Fox system where the forks, shock and seat post are all operated via a single lever. It makes the assumption that all 3 are adjusted at the same rate, which is rubbish, of course. So there's little point making it an automated system.

Manual would be ok. Infinitely adjustable like a hydraulic. A low powered motor would still require you to stand up to get the seat back up in a reasonable time. A powerful motor that can push your weight up and do it fast will chew some battery, especially since the people who will be buying this are the ones who adjust their seat all the time.

It is still hydraulic and air, just with a servo pulling the actuator instead of a cable.
