The recent push for more and more entry level trails might be great for introducing new riders to the sport, but let's not forget that mountain biking isn't supposed to be easy, safe, or quick to master

I've always believe some of the best bits of mountain biking is learning the trail, the sense of achievement you get from finally cleaning that obstacle that's baulked you and had you scared, the feeling of finally stringing the flat and off camber corners together with out stuffing it. Any one can rail a berm...

When did it become essential that all trails should be all ridable to all riders? There is no shame in walking sections. Up or down.

That said there is definitely a place for bike park style trails. I reckn DH trails have gotten harder and the sport has dropped off somewhat because it's hard to get into when all the major tracks are scary.
