After a good set of lights, bar and helmet. Will mainly use to ride Manly Dam. Let me know what you got!

After spending some good dough on a mainstream brand I've done a full circle and gone cheap. I purchased a good quality light and whilst the lumen output is great it doesn't last more than an hour and a half. Plus, the bar mount is crap too. I'm actually gonna send it back to the manufacturer with my comments on what a consumer wants.

Anyhow, a mate got me into a cheap alternative from CREE on eBay. For $25 delivered you get a bar or helmet mountable light with a claimed 2000 lumen output. The cons, well it probably isn't 2000 lumen all the time and the width of the beam is not as good as my better quality light but it cost only $25, works on full output for more than 2 hours, probably 3, and whilst the beam is not as wide as other lights it certainty helped me get back from my last night ride riding next to my mate after mine failed and left me in the dark Eye-wink

If it breaks after a year... Who cares... Buy another one Eye-wink

If, however, you've got a hefty budget to spend then checkout mtbr for their independent quality review of many lights.

Gday
I won a brand new Light and Motion Seca 800 at last years Scott 24 hour.

It has never been used.
I have them for sale on Gum tree.Take a look - photos
Check out the website for Light and Motion or who ever is selling them and if interested let me know what you think is a fair price.
I have a full set of ayups so don't need this set.

Regards

The cheap ones are OK but the charger/battery quality if often really bad. They are bright though, just quite 'spotty'.

I just got a Gemini Duo, it's pretty good, really good quality battery and charger, really light weight for helmet mounting and quite bright with a broad even beam.

It's a sort of middle of the price range light.
