New Drive Train

Ooooh... bling!

This evening the Rush got new X0 rear mech, new PG990 cassette, two new FSA alloy rings (granny + middle), new HG93 chain. The chain will be lubed with White Lightening Wax for a while to see how it goes. Tried that before but think I shouldn't have been quiet so liberal with it so new regime will be followed.

Thanks to cupcake for the SRAM tuning tips! Sticking out tongue

FSA Rings

Hi Rob

Just wondering where you got the rings from and how much you paid. I've been looking at XT rings and hoping these might be a bit cheaper. I figure if you're using them they must be pretty good.

The FSA rings came from Jenson - couldn't find them anywhere local.

I'm no expert on rings BTW so don't take the fact I'm using them as any indication. Just the bike came with FSA cranks.

Race Face were another option, and I hear Blackburn rings are rather good.

Most people just slag off whatever they are using 'cos they never seem to last as long as you want, c'est la vie and all that though!

Cheap and steel, last well, work well, but a poofteenth heavier so better for training than racing.
John.

Thanks guys

Thanks Rob and John, I'll check them out. I don't race so steel will do just fine I'd say.

Cheers, Mark

Have a look at Blackspire too and see if they fit the bill, a bit pricey maybe but they last for yonks.

Blackburn/Blackspire?
