Hi guys
have a small group of people going down to kosciuszko national park for easter, all taking our bikes, and looking at doing some riding and walking, what are your recommendations? None of us have ever been down there, so any advice is welcome!

Can highly recommend The Pinch Ride, although you will have to find someone to pick you up at the end or make it a true epic by riding back into town.

Basically, take the firetrail south from Dead Horse Gap and down to the Snowy River. Shown here:

It's awesome countryside and the final descent is crazy!

We are heading down to Thredbo for Easter too. The Thredbo Valley Trail along the river from Thredbo Village down to Crackenback Resort seems like it could be a good out and back ride, about 45k.

Thredbo Valley Trail is a must. start at Lake crackenback resort ride up to thredbo village and then return. Plenty of single track at thredbo now if you want some extras.

Cascade Hut Ride - shorter version of robs Pilot Wilderness ride and easy to do as an out and back

Other options include Jindabyne to East Jindy and also Bungarra is worth checking out.

Have fun !!

Im also going to the Snowies over the Easter weekend with some mates.
Mix of mtb & road riding for us.

As mentioned earlier, definitely have a look at the Thredbo Valley trail. Its a great ride, start at Crackenback & do the out & back.

Also some nice fun single track around lake crackenback resort thats worth checking out.
Im also planning to ride Bungarra mtb park.

Sounds like the plan that I have in my head also, TVT looks pretty good, and the tracks around crackenback sound like a win.

Will look into cascade trail hut too, sounds like a nice fire trail ride.

What are the best walks that people recommend? Sometimes I feel there is too much information out there!,

As far as walking goes The Main Range walk is in my top 3
Start at Perisher and head up the hill to Blue Lake - must stop to check this out
Head over the pass (can't remember the name) towards Kosi.
You can go to the top of Kosi, but it's a bit boring really.

Turn left when you hit the dunnies for a walk along the road past Seaman's hut.
An interesting (bit sad tho) place to stop for a snack or lunch.

Continue along over the bridge past the start of the Kosi river.
Good to take a short detour at the bridge - head along the track leading to the river start for some great surprises.
In spring big ice blocks sit on the sides of the pristine river with granite rock features all around.

Continue along the road back to perisher for more incredible views and some amazing snow gums .
Be sure to take the walkway at Perisher to the end where you have 360 degree views of the whole range.
We got the most incredible sunset here one evening.

Allow 6 hours+ to be on the safe side.

... usually do it the other way around though, for some reason. No ice / snow to be seen up there this autumn unless it has fallen in the last couple of weeks!

at Charlottes pass, starting at perisher will just add 10kms of road walk. That being said the walk called porcipine rocks at perisher is also a really nice one, well worth doing and not overly long.you can look down on to lake crackenback resort and see jindy lake as well.It also happens to be a blast on a full suspension bike coming back down.......

You're right Matt
I meant Charlotte's pass - all the way to the end of the road
been a few years since I did it
