Anyone recommend somewhere to stay for about eight blokes near the trails, for early next year?

.....Rotovegas Motel....and have historically been about 5 - 8 blokes. Management are great with the bikes and the motel is right across the road from Countdown (NZ version of Woolworths). It is a 15 minute flat ride to the trails and 10 minute walk into the main restaurant area.

I met a bunch of guys from QLD who booked a place for $3500 for 10 days for 10 people. $35 per night !! Had spas, bike workshop and apparently the fridge was stocked with beer when they turned up.
Check out http://www.bookabach.co.nz/ There are heaps of good options on Book-a-batch and many of them will tell you how close they are to the trails.
If you don't mind staying out of town the Lynmore would be good option, you can ride in via Nursery Rd or the Lynmore Link.
I've stayed at the Alpin twice and I have booked again for Oct - however if you have 4 or more people you will do WAY better renting a house.

Oh and Aaron my daughter loves the bike..stuck anew white saddle and some pedals on it...some Lizard skins on the frame looks like new.
Worked well for is last year.

Hawkeye We must have come very close to being at the Alpin at the same time. It's a good place to stay, with plenty of room to spread out and the bike wash is very handy. Nice folks too. 165 days until Im back!

Loved the geothermal heated pool.

Alpin is under new management. Still in a good spot, with great but basic facilities including wash stations and spas, just not an mtb tragic running it. Rotavegas is run by an mtb tragic, closer to town but a little further to the trails.
