Bike Insurance Claim Times - Experiences Please

Hi Folks,

My bike was stolen and I have a claim in with No Worries Insurance. I submitted the claim (with all required documents, police report etc) 2.5 weeks ago and they still have not got back to me. I have been calling every couple of days for the past week, and they keep saying they are waiting to hear back from the underwriters.

Am I being impatient or unreasonable?

What have others experienced through companies like Velosure or others?

Thanks
Ian

My claim with Velosure (which was a medical expense arising from cycling) was approved in 1 day.

Sent the mail Thursday and the claim was approved Friday.

Edit - now I remember - my dental treatment was done in 2 parts so I made 2 claims and both were approved in a day.

Hi,
When I made a claim with AAMI for my stolen bike it took almost a month to get the new one. But at the beginning it took a lot of time because their supplier (CRC Cronulla) wanted to gave me a slower spec bike, so I needed to send pics of my old one to show them all the upgrades and then CRC re-quote a similar spec bike so AAMI could approve it. Once approved took about 2 weeks from Trek for delivery plus another 3-4 days to upgrade stanchions. My bike was stolen on 30th Oct and I picked up the new one the 29th Nov.
Now, No worries Insurance. When I was overseas on holidays we needed to take our son to the hospital, he spent 2 days there. I did a claim for all the expenses. I sent all the documents by e-mail on the 14th Dec and I got the money on my account by the 17th Dec

My aami claim was settled within 2 weeks. Would recommend aami after this experience.
